Short Break Then Commissions
Hi guys! I was going to open commissions on Monday but since things are starting to relax a bit in Scotland I’m going to be visiting my folks for a week instead. My dad’s just going to drive me home to prevent any more risk and my folks have been pretty thorough about preventing any spread. It’ll be good to finally see them and their new dog!
So I’ll be opening commissions on the 29th instead!
I’m going to be restricting some options but adding poster colour commissions. Just small stylized characters for now! And I think I said in the last post but digital colour can now be added to traditional sketches.
I know I said I was going to keep doing ink commissions but the more I think about it, the more nerve wracking ink as commissions is to me. I’ve started enjoying it for myself and I don’t mind if I make the odd mistake when its my own work but it just feels too risky when I’m working for someone else and I’d rather not stress out that much. Maybe cleaned up pencil lines or coloured pencil might be a better alternative in the future?
I’ll be restricting background options from now on I’m afraid (with the exception of pencil drawings.) To be honest, I’m not sure how to price them. The time it takes me to paint a bg is a lot but I’m not that great at them yet and I think having commission clients being able to choose whatever they want was biting off more than I could chew. (Not the client’s faults at all! But I have a lot of difficulty saying no.) Backgrounds are still something I want to improve on though! So I might have ych-ish auctions or slots with the bg already planned out, that would be a lot more do-able for me.
I’ve closed my etsy but I’ll open it again when I get back!
