i kinda had one of those moments, my friend knew i was a furry and when i went to go out and get us subs and pizza, he helped himself to my computer and got weirded out and then gave me and my brother shit for it even though he went looking for it and going through all my folders -_-

also when i first bought my straitjacket, the day i got it, at night i tried it on, and at the time, my bedroom was upstairs and nobody comes up stairs, but guess what? the one time i wanted some private time to try it on, one of my other brother's storms into the room and im in it x_x

I hate when people poke their noses into the things I keep private, I'm so paranoid about it. At this point, I keep locked boxes to keep stuff safe and out of sight, and I always block my computer when I'm not in it, even if it's to got to the bathroom.

I was sleeping when she got in here so I was paranoid about her looking through all the layers, enabling them and finding stuff.. but it looks like the most she could have done was look at the two pictures that were in the screen at the moment she arrived :<

I feel for you, I have three nephews that like to hunt me down to see what their favorite uncle is doing online. It affects what I fave and what I do but not where I wander or what I commission.
Two are going to college soon and one wants to be an anime artist so there is hope.

From my experience, people really don't mind that much, especially not family and friends. Of course, every family is different. But yeah, I had a fun situation with my sister, where after I returned from a furry convention, she found out I was running around there with a fake tail. I explained to her what the furry fandom was, and she was like "Yeah, but I'm sure it's more than just meeting friends, it must be a weird fetish. I've seen things on the internet." (She wasn't saying that in a demeaning matter, more like, 'do what you want, but I don't want to know').

Fast forward a few months, I had a livestream of lewd furry art being drawn up on my PC, wasn't sitting in front of it, and didn't notice it was still running when she came into the room and we talked for a bit. At some point I realized, shit, that's still open, went to my PC to turn off the stream, and she was like (dead seriously) 'What's the problem? That's just naked animals.". Me "Wait, I thought that's all a 'weird fetish' and you don't wanna know about that?"
She was confused and silent for a moment. "Wait, that's that furry stuff you like? But there's nothing wrong with that."

There was silence again, before I ask her "Then what the fuck did you see online that you thought this was all about??"

She just left the room, and wouldn't tell me.

Tl;Dr:
Most people really don't mind. My father is absolutely neutral on the topic and doesn't care at all, my mother finds it really cool, because 'it would be boring if there were no slightly weird and crazy hobbies in the world!'. (Also, she likes the cosmetics and fursuits, she says it's like carnival, but every day :P)
