Hello and welcome to the Unicorn's Bookshelf.
Wish me luck, world!!!
This week is my wife's mother's family reunion. It's at a location eight hours away from where I live and will probably be totally awesome. People will be taking precautions to keep safe, so hopefully there will be no issues for health. I hear there will be some great hikes and lots of family games and such.
I am...not going.
I'm a paranoid person in many regards, and while those going left this morning, I have stayed behind to avoid any higher risk of catching good ol' COVID than is necessary. I just don't want to risk taking it to others when I get back. My coworkers. those friends I HAVE been i contact with. The people my library hands books to. That sort of thing.
What I AM doing is jump starting my writing career! It's been while since I just made time to write. It's hard, around a forty hour a week job, to find time to write. Especially when I am a social creature who loves taking my free time to spend with friends. I have spoken before about re-balancing my schedule. So far...i'm not good at it, but I shall keep trying. I will also be attempting to get some art done, as well. So...I have still taken this week off and will be as productive as I can.
When I DO go back to work, I shall have to put a little more effort into establishing my writing schedule. It shall be a challenge next week, fitting in some writing time, but I think I can make it work. Just need to work a bit with those I live with to make it happen.
What does this mean for you? I am hoping to work myself into a more regular production schedule, which means I'll have things to post. For those few of you who have been so very loyal as to still be watching me...you may get to see some stuff soon! In fact, I wrote a short story just this morning that I hope to post once it's been through some checks and editing. More should come soon. More writing. More art. Maybe enough to even warrant all that loyalty you've given me so far. Thank you for that, by the way.

Sorry 'bout the reunion though, I'm sure you'd go under normal circumstances.
Under normal circumstances, I'd definitely go. These things are a lot of fun. I just...have to think about more than my own interests right now, and I don't want to bring anything home with me, as it were.
