-- DEVIANTART -- WEASYL -- SOFURRY -- TWITTER -- BLUESKY -- This is a long video I know, but he did a damn good job going through how the police got to where they are going, and he did it without saying that all caps are bad or any of that, but her did a good job pointing out the cracks in the system and kind of where they came from, but also some solutions to the problem and how things more recently have gotten a lot better.
There is so much nuance missing from what is going on, and I appreciate that he has helping fill in some of the gaps.

I wish I were joking; as someone who's found himself going "there's lots of blame to be shared about here" more than once over the past couple months I've been called a "-blank ist/ism/phobe!" more than once...
As far as police militarization specifically goes: yeah, that's been a problem in the US for a while now, particularly following the practice of selling leftovers from the war on terror to police forces in the form of military-grade weapons and equipment.
But yeah, I like that he gave more a history of where and why we are where we are without resorting to broad sweeping generalizations about whether or not cops are good or bad people, but more that the actions committed by some are bad, without saying they are inherently bad people.
It is like attacking an idea versus attacking a person.
