Question on stand alone tablets

General
It seems like every time I actually have things I want to draw something goes wrong... A few months ago I tried to get back into drawing with my tablet after ~6 months away. Partially for maps for D&D but also because I wanted to try digitally painting again. But literally a week in my nearly 10YO budget gaming PC literally stopped booting up its OS and... I think it's bios? Whatever system it uses to operate the keyboard and mouse. So I couldn't even put it into safe mode. No big deal though, I'd bought a newer PC about a year back. I just needed to get the tablet installed on the new one right? Well, apparently not! First wouldn't work at all, then it seemed to work after re-installing the whole graphic's driver but not consistently. Well after a month of email support with wacom we got it to work, but it's resolution is limited to at most 1080x~764 or something. Which wouldn't be a problem if I couldn't slide the photoshop window up to my normal monitor where it's then super squished in (There's extreme distortion in the actual file making the tablet useless for actually drawing). So it needs repairs for nearly 200USD because it's out of warranty. BUT EVEN WORSE IS THAT WACOM'S REPAIR CENTER IS CLOSED THANKS TO COVID. I'm just so fucking done... I WANT TO DRAW AND NEED TO CAPITALIZE ON THAT BUT CAN'T AND IT AGGRAVATES ME SO!!!!
huffs.
So anyway when I got this tablet literally the next AC I saw people using stand alone tablets and the artist said it cost them literally a couple hundred more than mine so since I could use a working one and have wanted a mobile one for cons and to draw at work I'm just going to buy a new one... If I can find one I can trust... There are two options I've managed to find.
1. The 1 grand more than I'd feel comfortable spending and not veritile at all wacom https://estore.wacom.com/en-US/waco.....w1321hk0a.html
2. The much more reasonably priced and capable seeming, but completely unconfirmed (since I can't find any reviews besides the very suspect one on it's page) HUION, that you can only get currently with 100$ shipping... Still more reasonable but god damn... https://store.huion.com/products/kamvas-studio-22
So I'm looking for people to vouch for either of these, offer more suggestions, or have good resources for comparing these sorts f things. For suggestions no apple products, I like versatility and not paying 2x the price for a shitty logo. And if you're gonna suggest windows surface books be specific. Preferably with links. I know F all about PC specs outside of what RAM and memory do so I don't even know where I'd start comparing all of those.

FA+

I personally use a Microsoft Surface for art. The pressure sensitivity is great, but the linearity leaves something to be desired. (diagonal lines sometimes come out wavy)
There's a lot of praise for the iPad pro and pencil. It works on its own, and I even saw a twitter post showing off some software that mirrors a desktop computer, and lets you use it much like a standard computer display tablet.
The resolution limitation sounds rather odd. Sounds like a problem with the display EDID. It's going to be a problem with the cable, or a chip on the display. However, if you know the resolution of the display, there's ways to force a resolution on a monitor. They're different depending on the graphics card, but it might be worth looking into. Could get you back into working condition for free.
I'd like to hear more about those forced resolution methods though, or how to find out about them. Particularly from a machine on windows 10 and using GeForce GTX 1050 Ti.
You can leave the timing standard set to automatic, just try the resolution and refresh rate as listed in the specs for the tablet.
