i know my other artists adds 5 plus shading for each character. probably could up it but eh

I think it's irritating that artists have to 'explain' their price raise.
Art is a luxury! Talent, time, not making enough per hour...
Those are all reasonable enough. Artists shouldn't have to justify it.

But I get why you did it. I think you should raise the price +$15-20 depending on the complexity of shading. :)

Generally people like being informed when a price changes so they know what to expect. "Luxury" or not, when prices go up people are not obligated to pay it. If it goes past what they want to pay they will seek out another comparable artist that is cheaper, there always will be one.

I'm just saying that artists shouldn't have to justify WHY they're raising prices.
They 'justify it' so that customers don't complain so loudly.

I think customers should just understand that when an artist raises prices, they simply believe they are worth more than what they previously charged. And that should be justification enough, but it usually itsn't.
