Question to those more familiar with computer Hardware
5 years ago
My computer bricked so I had to grab a replacement; I was looking for AMD but they were sold out so I had to grab an intel instead. I get the impression intel is overpriced/underpowered, but I might just have an irrational bias. I think it’s still going to do what I need but I figured I would just ask some of my viewers what they thought.

On the laptop market I've had a bit worse experince with AMD, thou. But it might be because most were quite cheap laptops, so most of the hardware was crappy to begin with.
Intel used to be the to-go option if you wanted something crazy powerful in the i7 range, while AMD was a good option to compete with i3 and a good number of i5.
But since they released the ryzen, I think they've been fighting on quite some equal footing, and even the very high-end CPU have some serious competition between the i9 and the amd treadripper
I have designed some builds for people but these days go with AMD Ryzen processor always because cost's less yet get more power too. Laptop i got has ryzen processor too and its like a dream.
