Last time I got a rude comment, I forced myself to block them then hide their comments.

And also, not all people share the same preference as ours. Very few of my works even reached a second digits, let alone gained a favorite.

I actually got a comment (paraphrasing) "my apologies, i see your writing skill, but I'm going to hide your comment".

Basically what that said to me "writing is not valuable".

In one way, yes. But in other way, no... one of the comments was little went overboard, pressing me to put in more Tags even though I already maxed the tag's characteristic requirement. Such as some characters that I 'overlooked' and stuffs like that.

Speaking for the other side of things here. The comment that was hidden on that piece involved my character, lark, being portrayed in ways that neither of asked for or were asked about. You cannot just write fiction of other people's characters without consent or permission, as their preferences are just as important as your talent in writing.

Furthirmore he was very polite to you in the submission and explained why he removed the comment very clearly. Paraphrasing a snippet of his reply, out of context like that makes him look like a bad guy, and I really don't appreciate people throwing my friends under the bus like that in a journal.

TLDR no one is saying not to write, or shitting on you for writing, but you DO need to ASK the people involved first before you write fanfiction involving their chars, it's common courtesy.

Nods. I appreciated that. I just saw the comment chain on the pic, the deleted message, and his reply, poked in here out of curiosity and saw the journal, and knew who you were talking about. More than anything I just wanted to make sure that you understood the situation, and yeah, as he is a friend of mine i felt compelled to speak up.

I do hope to see some of your writings in the future, when you have gained permissions prior :D

i am now making sure to ask permission on many of my comments, just in case my comments get a little long. to be sure i follow the "ask first" rule.
