I’m afraid that gay dating isn’t all that easy from what I have heard. There was one tweet about it on Twitter that went something like “gay dating is like doing a job application, you either do it online or you network.”

Once I also saw an interview with a lesbian couple who were having a child via a surrogate and when one of the women were asked if she hoped her child would be gay she emphatically stated that no she hopes they won’t. The reason she stated was that dating while gay is hell, your options are so much more limited than a straight persons. Just finding a date let alone someone you connect with is a far more difficult endeavor for gay people.

Not trying to discourage or scare you or anything I’m just saying you should be prepared to have a hard time of it.

There might be something to it. I live in Poland, very Christian and conservative country. Being open about being LGBT is still a pretty big taboo. I tried to find a dating site, but there's very few of them that would allow for gay dating options. Grindr is one of the few options left, but it's practically just sex crazed perverts

I also live on the far borders of the city with my family. Going to the city to meet people gets to require quite a bit of effort.

I did kind of give it a try recently. One guy did go on a date with me, but then proceeded to require me to have a phone on at all times, and eventually when I said that I need to focus on studying, he told me he was breaking it off, saying that I should rethink how I act before I date anyone again. Then I had contacted 2 dudes, but then corona came, and after a few months, both stopped responding, and now I feel like: fuck this , I won't bother anyone and nobody will bother me. I'll die alone and everyone will be happier for it

It feels like everybody has their own definition, from what I could gather, it is someone who adores a girl unnecessarily too much even though they barely, if at all, get anything from the said girl in return. For example, mordecai from regular show.

I have never liked how straight people get treated within the fandom, always seems like a ton of hypocrisy because gay relationships still suffer the same ups and downs and failings as straight relationships but a straight person does make for an easier target for others who are looking to try and find someone to make themselves look/ feel better when compared to.

There's a lot of truth there. Quite a lot of antagonism, which is completely unnecessary. We all live with our problems, have issues to resolve, so why get into this whole "us versus them" mentality? It really bothers me what the new generation did with the fandom

Yeah , it seems that way. Of course there's the 'stereotypes' and all, but it can be pretty much the same kind of trouble... And I really don't feel like bothering with it at the moment
