Today, I have confirmed what I long suspected and it's that I lack a capacity for schauffenfrueden (spelling?). I just can't take delight in the suffering of those I have animosity in, because I can see the bigger picture and the price to pay is horrific. If this is a proverbial silver lining to a situation, regarding what's happening now, it's bordering a very dark storm cloud.

Ah, thanks for the correct spelling, as well as consensus on such a notion. Doesn't do anything good, only gets in the way of getting worthwhile things done.
