I'm really sorry to hear that. =/ Hopefully the chemo helps. I know it's not pleasant to go through, but... there's always hope.

I kept thinking this, but small cell cancer is very aggressive, and while treatment works at first, it can come back more aggressive. Both radiation and chemo docs said a year is the best case scenario. What hurts more is that she is my only blood relative where I live. I mean I have my wife yes, but outside of her (as my in-laws aren’t close) I’ll be alone...

As it stands we have no funds for what is to come and have no idea how to get it as we are limited on fundraising. Hell found a reddit for charity donations, but you need 300 karma; how the fuck you get that when you need help immediately I have no idea.

Wishing you and your mother all the best and I hope the treatments help. In the meanwhile, the best thing to do is to make sure your mother is comfortable and that the two of you spend as much good time together as possible.

I lost someone very near and dear to my heart years ago to cancer. It sucks all the life out of you when there is nothing you can do.

One thing you can do for yourself -the sooner the better- is to do voice/video recording her saying that she loves you...and other things. You can listen to it forever on and it could give you some strenght to face life once she has to go. I sure hope it won't be anytime soon!
