A STAR TREK CARTOON!

Dudes. My dudes. Just found out a new Star Trek animated series has begun, and it's made by Titmouse Inc., the same studio that produces Rick and Morty! It is called Star Trek: Lower Decks.
And I love it. It's got that crazy Rick and Morty style humor but still somehow feels more like Star Trek than damn near anything that's come out in the last 10 years(maybe with the exception of that Picard series, but I haven't actually watched that yet, we'll see [edit]- and of course The Orville which I did watch and LOVED and somehow forgot about when I was writing this up). And it really works! I love it! As a huge lifelong fan of old Star Trek(original series, animates series, Next Gen, Ds9, and the older movies, anyway), and a fan of Rick and Morty for as long as it's existed... this is perfect. I had my reservations about it at first, but that first episode was fantastic and I want more!
I found it on Watch Cartoons: https://www.thewatchcartoononline.t.....ek-lower-decks
But it's on CBS All Access, as well.
They may have just salvaged a franchise... in my eyes, anyway. :P

A little fun can be had but...
Orville IS the Trek we wanted...
std was...
and they destroyed picard...
Trek was Always able to hold a mirror to society To show our short comings with GOOD writing and story lines WITHOUT shitty writing for people who DON'T like Trek pushing the most stupid agendas...
I'm hoping this new series will be good or at least not suxass as bad as std/tp shows...
But with all the nasty anti fan poly-ticks (many blood suckers) I'm not holding my breathe...
But I will with hold judgement until I see it...
Here's hoping...
Couldn't stomach the bullshitagenda of the man himself...saw too many clips of Puke-hard...and how the whole thing was DESINGED to be a destruction of trek...

But watch them for yourself...they may be ok...but I'm OLD, er, old school Trek...
I'm just SERIOUSLY pissed off at the deliberate ruination of a beloved UTOPIA in favour of a nazi cult group...
However, giving the first full episode a viewing, my hope has been restored.
Yes, it's a little goofy, but we do need to have perspective on this series and the main characters versus the rest of the offerings the Star Trek universe.
These are the crew members who are basically on the lowest rung of the ship. They're given the crappy jobs. They're not expected to be bridge material. At that level, maybe you can get away with some level of goofing off and providing the comedy part of this show.
The main quartet of characters I can find believable:
- Someone who wants to succeed, does their best to follow all the rules and regs, and is basically the 'straight man'
- The foil to them, who is someone with perhaps a bit of a damaged past and been up and down in ranks, and maybe isn't there by choice - but when it comes to it, their heart is in the right place
- Someone who is so absorbed by their job that they don't see what's going on around them
- Someone who is fresh of out academy on their first posting, and super eager
It certainly kept the principles of Starfleet and the Federation, without keeping it too serious.
My only issue with this story was that the race and planet this 'Second Contact' took place in seemed far too agrarian of a society to have even qualified for a First Contact. You'd have expected where they were setting up the subspace transceiver to be in a city, not some out of the way place with only a few buildings. Apart from the accidental first contacts, aren't first contacts only supposed to be made when the society gets to a point where they're reaching out into the stars with vessels - ideally warp or near-warp capable?
