Didn't get the job, also soon gonna be 31 years of age.

Yeah, the job at the university library I applied for about two weeks ago?
I did not get it, but aparently it was a close call. My mom knows people in so many places, and she even knows some at the university here. And it seems I was so damn close, was in second place of being picked for the job. The woman that was picked in the end was better trained, having done a university training course as a librarian, so she was better trained than me.
Oh well, have to keep looking.
Also, gonna be 31 at the 30th of this month. Dunno really how to feel about it yet. huffs

As I always explain, that definitely happened to me. I was a manager with Mcdonalds for a year or so and looking for a change when I applied to be an 'environmental service worker' (janitor) at the hospital, cleaning things.
I got turned down since I wasn't qualified (even for the base job, to clean the cafeteria, take out garbage, mop floors, etc...what? lol) .
However they offered me a job in the kitchen as I came from a 'food service' related job. My actual title now is 'Chef' (something that coming from Mcdonalds I definitely was not qualified for lol) where I made almost $6 per hour more starting than the job I applied for.
Since then however I've also picked up many other duties here as a Union representative/delegate, safety committee/safety ambassador (for the entire hospital, not just kitchen) etc...
Anyway, moral of the (longwinded) story - As I said in the beginning you never know where another opportunity may lead, perhaps even to bigger and better things...just have to stay positive about it :)
