Adoptables that don't get Adopted

What happens to them?? ;~;
Do they get put down like at real shelters!?
Do the artists just consider them a failure and delete them after 1 year of reminders don't work!?
I know they're just 2 dimensional drawings on a page, but I get really, really, unhealthily attached to my characters, and sometimes to other characters as well
And the fact that they don't have names yet either breaks my fucking heart. I want to adopt ALL the characters and give them great names they really like, but alas I don't have that kind of scratch.
SO ARTISTS PLEASE TELL ME what do you do with adoptables that nobody wants to adopt!?
Give them to me I'll give them a good home I promise. I'll run an orphanage for adoptable OCs and write stories about them all together D:

I'm a monster too! I adopted Corona just to make her have really sad sex with strangers so she can be rescued. ;~;
I put the blame on Paw City, but I created that too! I really did adopt her just to turn her into a sex slave and I'm a monster!! D:
But I did put her in a situation where she has extremely degrading sex with people she doesn't really want to on a very shaky consent status...
It's almost rape, but not quite, but getting that close to the line doesn't speak well for the writer...
