My cat bit me
General
He didn't bite me hard enough to break skin, but he bit me on the tendon/muscle area between my index and middle finger knuckle. Currently it is rather painful to bend my index and middle finger. Holding my tablet pen, fork, typing. Ya never really know how much you use your hands until everything you do results in pain, ahhaha.
It was recommended for me to rest my hand for about 5 days, keep it elevated, iced, and to not massage it.
Pretty much, it just feels like a really bad bruise that hurts when I move it.
This is just another thing to add to my right hand issues since I already get frequent wrist pains as well. I still love drawing, but when I can't go an hour with hurting it just suuuucks and it's making my well overdo commission work slow as hell.
Just want to give an update and offer my apologies. I hope to get back into the swing of things soon.

Just to clarify, do you use a wrist brace/ a sleeping brace? Constant wrist pain seems really unfortunate :X

I sleep with one, but I have problem drawing with the one I have. I should get a new one, something more flexible.

I have a repetitive stress injury in my wrists from continuous keyboard use and I've found that sleeping in wrist braces creates a dependence on them, weakening your wrists dramatically! I don't know that this applies to your situation, or if your brace is different, but I might suggest wearing them only a few hours a day and then taking them off periodically while you do.

I only got it recently, but I will def keep that in mind! Last couple of days I was simply sleeping with a clothed ice pack on my hand from the cat injury.

I suppose it probably won't make a difference over as short a timeframe as you would expect to wear it for a bite, but I figure as an artist you're going to get familiar with wrist braces sooner or later ;)

Oh no, he's definitely lost precious cat status now. Super sass. Hope you get to feeling better soon! Hands and wrists are super important, don't overdo it during recovery

So just some advice. Get a wrist brace. And if you can, go to your doctor and ask if you can have a nerve induction test done. You may have carpal tunnel which would explain the pain and if left untreated it can cause nerve damage and muscle loss. Its an issue i have sadly and yours sounds like how mine started.
