Jelli Notes
[ WARNING: Mentions of vore/injestion]
What is a Jelli, exactly? In short, it is a shape-shifting species with a unique life cycle, and intricate means of reproduction. As potentially dangerous lab-bred creatures, their existence is outlawed in many galaxies. That prompted the demands from the wealthy and bored, thus spawning the hushed reputations of these extremely rare exotic pets. Occasionally, mysterious world-hopping smugglers have an egg for sale at some insanely exorbitant price, but surely there is more than one way to take it off the stranger’s hands… almost as if they’re eager to be rid of it.
As being ingested is a vital part of the Jelli’s life cycle, they are easily classified by flavor/scent, which additionally tend to hint at common character traits among the same type:
SWEET Jellis: Friendly, Affectionate, Clingy
SOUR Jellis: Cunning, Unusual, Blunt
SAVORY Jellis: Confident, Energetic, Brash
SALTY Jellis: Adaptable, Resilient, Stubborn
BITTER Jelli's: Shy, Quiet, Morose
Known To The Public // Easily Accessible IC Knowledge
* Jellis Hatch from eggs, which are also prized collector's items
* A Jelli egg is worth a lot on its own, as it's not uncommon for them to remain unhatched
* Jellis sold in various black markets as extremely rare exotic pets
* After they are born, Jellis find someone to take care of them; they seek complementary companionship and protection; and they are most vulnerable when young
* Jellis grow and change depending on who they spend time with, and how they interact. This means Jellis may show their affection by adapting traits of the people they like; for example, growing fox-like ears if they were especially fond of a certain fox.
* Likewise, Jellis can adapt twisted versions of traits from people who have treated them extremely badly. For example, developing a set of claws similar to those of a hated canine, only the claws are longer/jagged/more monstrous looking ( to various degrees ) than the originals.
Unknown To The Public // Difficult to Access IC Knowledge
* Jelli’s appearance and colors tend to shift accordingly until a certain age when they must evolve to mature: to start this process, a Jelli must be consumed.
* They are unable to speak at this age, but at times find ways to ‘request’ to be eaten, often by the people closest to them.
* To easily enable this process ( especially if subversion is required ) they can morph into a completely liquid state and ‘hide’ in food, but their original smell/taste can’t be hidden.
* However, once someone tastes a Jelli, they feel powerfully compelled to keep eating until the entire hidden creature has been consumed. Tastes/feels too good to stop
* This effect also happens to those willingly consuming a Jelli
* This is the norm but not always the case; due to preference, some Jellis ( or those who have willingly agreed to eat them ) choose to be consumed whole
*After full consumption, the Jelli lives unharmed inside the host’s stomach, and can eventually learn to manipulate it’s special liquid form to seep anywhere into the host’s body. Various effects.
* The Jelli is more or less ‘incubating’, and it gets to know it’s host very well. It can absorb memories and feelings from the host, though it is not always intentional.
* Once it has absorbed enough nutrients/experience/emotions ( as it is scientifically ambiguous what they actually feed on while inside ) it will exit the body-- and how it does that exactly varies from case to case, and depends on how much care the Jelli chooses to extend
* Sometimes less painful/awkward natural bodily exits are used; sweat, sexual secretions, or other excretions that don’t cause overt excessive stress to the host.
* More nefarious Jellis with a grudge against their host have been known to exit the body in more excruciating ways, such as crawling out of tear ducts, pushing themselves whole up a host's throat to choke them, or forcing the host to wet themselves. These are the less extreme cases.
* The process of exiting a body can either be excruciating for the host, or extremely pleasurable to various degrees
* Once ‘born’, the Jelli is now capable of shifting into the form of the host they inhabited. The exact accuracy of the ‘copy’ various from case to case
* However it takes effort to disguise their true colors/transparency, but it can be learned in time
* With the ability to shift between its new form and its former, the Jelli is then free to repeat this process as many times as possible; they are typically driven to collect as many gene-prints as they can, in order to produce the best possible young
* Once they’ve collected enough ideal imprints there is a small chance that an extremely powerful orgasm will cause the Jelli to lay an egg.
* States of extreme pleasure/duress can cause a Jelli’s camouflage ( learned ability to hide original scent/color/transparency ) to flicker or fail
* Jellis may or may not wish to reveal themselves due to stigma or misunderstanding about their species
{ WIDELY KNOWN}
LIFE CYCLE:
Stage Zero: Egg
Jelli eggs will not hatch until they find the ‘right person’. They are inert until they find their match, and once they do, a tiny beat of life begins to pulse from the egg. In order to hatch it, carrying it around with you, talking to it, and other such kindnesses are recommended. With enough attention and physical contact, the egg will hatch.
Stage One: Baby
At this stage of life the Jelli is extremely fragile. It requires constant protection, as well as feeding and watering. It also craves affection, and will always try to follow its ‘parent’ if left behind. Baby Jellis also need plenty of attention, and will be unhappy if left alone or treated unkindly. Wants to cuddle one hundred percent of the time.
Stage Two: Toddler/Child
Permanently adapts traits/features of those whose behaviors have heavily influenced them
They become less fragile, and more intelligent. Roughly equivalent to a 5 year old human.
They are unable to speak but can communicate the same as typical pets; simple noises, nuzzles, pawing, circling, and so on. They learn tricks extremely easily and are strongly motivated by praise and affection.
--- ( LARGELY UNKNOWN ) ---
Stage Three: Incubation
Begins with Jelli’s instinct to be eaten
Finds a host through various means; sometimes with consent of the host, sometimes without.
Incubates inside them for 1-6 months; during this time, they may or may not have a variety of effects on the host they are inhabiting. The Jelli also absorbs the host’s memories/emotions.
Eventually exists host when incubation is complete
Stage Four: Young Adulthood
Can now shapeshift between newly learned form ( from first host ) and stage 2 form. Still capable of liquidation
Must learn to ‘camouflage’ to hide taste/scent/natural color/transparency. Duress can disrupt this effect, and extreme duress can cause the temporary resurgence of physical traits absorbed in stage 2.
A Jelli can repeat process to gain additional forms as many times as desired ( though not all Jellis choose to do so as it may draw unwanted attention )
