Keep At It

For those of you who make things, whether it's art or handicrafts or music or well, whatever can be described as creative, you put a lot into each piece you put out.
The thing is, it's not about the time you spent theorizing about what you were making. It's about the end result.
And sometime, it's kinda crap.
That's okay.
Keep making mistakes. You will only learn from them. I recently picked up a book called 'Art & Fear' (recommended by the amazing
karlos ) that seems to have been written by occupants of my brain.
I encourage the creative folks who follow me to read this. I'm only two chapters in and I feel a lot better about the process of creating art. For starters, I'm wedded to the PROCESS of making art, but the audience IS NOT. Realizing this has helped tremendously. I spend weeks on a single piece, thinking it will get lots of views, but in reality, NO ONE CARES how much time I spent on it.
So, keep soldiering on. I shall do the same.

A while back I came to the understanding that the average person couldn't care less about what I made...and that was FINE. More than fine, it was GREAT! Accepting that meant that I was able to create freely for myself and focus on sharing my work instead of trying to "show" it off (and then getting bummed out because no one noticed or cared).
Art is an insanely personal journey. It's almost impossible (if possible at all) for another to recognize and appreciate that path you're walking along beyond just surface details. Conversely, if you're able to find another who can appreciate your direction for what it represents CHERISH THAT PERSON LIKE NO ONE ELSE because they're your unicorn :3.
NEVER. STOP. CREATING. (and stay well!)
