Today has been calm. We're at my wife's grandparent's place, waiting to see if our own house burns in the fires. So far the indication is that the fires haven't reached that close yet. We'll see. I'm praying that things stay safe and we can all go home when this is over. Too bad I don't know when that will be.

At least we're safe, though, and the grandparents seem to be enjoying the company. If nothing else, we have that. That counts. Not sure where we'll go if the fires turn this direction, but so long as we're together, I believe we'll figure it out. And that's assuming that even happens. For now, we wait. We watch. We pray.
