So, demolishing all those wonderfully-laid-out, beautiful homes in Eos and Oasis when I was playing Red Faction: Guerrilla made me want to install The Sims 2 again. Should I bother getting its sequel?

Yeah, it's alright. Not much to do after getting all the nicest stuff in your house and the best job. Perhaps wait for the expansion packs. Of course a single player game is always better when you didn't have to pay for it.
