A hundred years ago there were lots of railway companies in the UK, large and small. This is set in the early 1920s (1920-1922) with companies like the LNWR, Maryport & Carlisle, Midland Railway, NER and Caledonian Railway.
In 1923 all of these companies were amalgamated into the LMS, except the NER which was absorbed into the LNER.
