I'm so sick of hearing about how people think Obama's the Anti-christ. Do they not remember the one scripture that over rides all of thier shit. "No one will know the time nor the date of his return." Can't find it atm, but, I remember reading it when I was totally God nuts.

Wow, that was candy for the ears. And I can't believe so many people actually think Obama might be the antichrist, even though the poll was made in, y'know, New Jersey. I liked how he compared the republican party to basically a cult for politically inclined christian idiots though. It puts so much in perspective.

It's perhaps a little strong in language and more divisive than unifying, but the man definitely has a point. The right will never make progress until they tell the crazies to get lost.

I've been around those people, i've studied their schoolwork, i've listened to their sermons, and I can say, many of them are truly lost. You get these preachers that are decently smart and know how to take and hold sway over the followers and then you have those preachers that genuinely believe in what they are preaching. All these people are scary, as they cannot see the world thru anything else except literal word for word from the Bible and/or their preacher. These people can also be found in the other christian churches, just not as many. Its why i no longer go to church or listen to them, but believe in God and Jesus.

Plato has a point. (Sorry, political theory class has me basically categorizing all kinds of philosophical stuff.)

The Greek idea of "happy versatility", where everyone can do any job within the state (anyone is qualified to be a judge or a congressman)... Is no longer applicable to modern society.

If one is not educated enough, most often they can barely earn enough money to survive. So it would at least appear that those who are "poor" are ignorant. Both Plato and Aristotle would agree on this.

But also, the way modernity is, when one becomes educated, they become specialized in their field, and as such, computer programmers tend not to know about political theory beyond the basics. This also leads to ignorance, as although the flashlight shines bright in the darkness, it doesn't illuminate the entire room.

So what do we do? Alexander the Great doesn't come around every single generation, as anyone who studies European history can definitely attest.
