*DUSTS OFF JOURNAL*
Oh hi there. Been a while.
Figured I would go ahead and make an update xD
First thing is I'm sure a lot of people heard by now that Disney is planning to lay off cast members, I believe over 28k. I received an email yesterday about it and I might be getting laid off officially. I've been on furlough with medical benefits, but I might be losing it. Kinda super nervous and we won't know who's getting laid off for sure until November or so. I might get lucky, I might not, and unemployment is running low. I can't get another job atm either since my sister is handicapped and her and my mom are both highly susceptible to sicknesses. I'll just be trying to spam more adopts to stay afloat, I guess xD

So far we're calling her Cali, not sure if we'll keep it that, but it's short for Calliope, Calypso or California lol. We got Cali from a family friend who's severely allergic to cats. She said the kitten was most likely dumped and she was meowing at her window at night. They couldn't keep her, and the pound said they would put her to sleep if they brought her there, so....I guess my household is turning into a zoo.
Old man Monkey and Ramsey wants nothing to do with her, Chewie is scared and Ninja seems to be the only cat who doesn't mind her. Dinkie is hella excited xD The other 2 puppers haven't seen her yet.

Also I post random stuff, usually wips and animal pix up on my Instagram if people are interested.
And may or may not be slower with commissions, this cutie pie wants a lot of attention xD

Yyyeah, it gets pricey sometimes. I pay for the cats and my beardie's food, which...stings, but my family buys the dog food and they have to buy 2 different types which is like over $100. Old small dog has bad teeth, so special food xD
I find out in a month, we got something last night but its subject to change. I seem safe with what they gave us, but they can easily snip the bottom full timers. Which is why Im anxious xD

We're supposedly having a "surge" in cases, but I saw the paper's headline yesterday was something regarding the hospitals saying they were full, when they weren't. Heard that's been a national thing.
Unsure how much of that's true, or how realistic anything we're told is by now. I know it's real and serious, but I'm trusting both media and government less and less as things come to light.

Ah I feel like the news has been trying to start a panic and people are over it. Not saying the rona isnt bad, but the media is being a bit wonky about the numbers. Idk I never trust the news much nowadays, maybe its my paranoidness lol xD
Yeah I don't trust anything main stream media says now, and I have to look up multiple sources just to make sure its true. Its really sad xD

I agree. It's bad enough, but I wouldn't doubt their objective above public safety is create a panic and become the way people make their decisions. Remember, big companies are buying smaller media outlets, and they're owned by even larger corporations. Remember all the videos showing different news outlets using the same phrases and stories? More outlets to push agendas instead of local journalism which might be more impartial. That's why I didn't like the election coverage for 2016. It was not impartial. The media had predetermined bias. Not saying I liked one candidate or the other...or any of them. Just I prefer my news impartial and boring. Except cute animal stories. They're the exception to the rule. X3
If it's not a boring editorial that's cut and dried, it should be scrutinized with a severe scrut... Even those need fact checking anymore. It's sad when the local recipe listings need such scrutiny... (attempt at lighthearted jest)

Oh i agree 1000%. The news is on a spree right now focusing on things that are blown way out of proportion, but then neglecting to report incidents that might ""contradict""" their narrative, or even SKEWING and leaving out bits on purpose and its like...seriously? This is blatantly obvious you're doing this for the views/cause chaos to get more people in. I don't want to get political or anything on here, but boi......you know where I'm headed lol xD

It's just overall sad. There was a video of something that happened, so of course I found the whole thing somewhere else but they cut it and tried to make the guy out to be a bad guy, then it turns out hes the victim and they only snippet one piece. it's all intentional. Boi xD

It's true, and everyone points out when one side does it, but not the other. Both sides have been terrible about it for awhile, now (and just in general, with some individuals having good moments, but collectively being childish and not working towards compromise).
There's no unbiased news source anymore. I told someone last election how the media blatantly showed/spoke favoritism and was throwing a tantrum that "Orange Man" was elected. Now that he's projected to lose, they're openly mocking him. I'm sorry, but that's the job comedians make their living at, not newscasters. They're supposed to just present the facts and show the video. Let us decide what we think. (Like they're all poopyheads...)

XD Honestly, I quit watching years ago because it was a constant stream of predictable jokes that just weren't funny after a while. Plus Letterman retired, and his sharp wit and dry humor is lacking now. Leno too. Don Rickles passed away as well. Man, he made me laugh!
Everyone is guilty, honestly. Both sides are being petty, and only in it for themselves and not for the people. Sad times xD

I haven't had television on for anything but weather, and the inauguration. Being antenna only, I just don't care to watch, anymore.
