Hey guys, I feel like I needed to get some stuff off my chest
There have been a few things bugging me and I would like to address them
1 Lets start with OUR relationship
It feels like I'm put on a pedestal while also being looked down on as if I was dirt
I'm on a pedestal cuz I'm an artist and I do art
But also looked down on as if I was dirt since the clock starts ticking as soon as I accept payment and GET MY ART DONE NOW OR I WILL THROW A BIG FIT OR TELL MY FRIENDS THAT YOU ARE A HORRIBLE ARTIST
Or maybe thats my anxiety talking, I honestly dont know anymore
I dont get it either, thats just how it feels
2 Why cant you follow the rules?
So this applies to everything I do
I have a TOS for a reason, as the commissioner it is YOUR job to read MY TOS
My TOS had been my FEATURED Journal since I started being an artist over 2 years ago. This has NOT changed. It is literally on my profile plain as day. You CANNOT miss it
I have had several instances where people who have copyrighted characters have tried to commission me and I obviously tell them no as I DO NOT DO COPYRIGHTED CHARACTERS OR WANT TO BE SUED BY THAT COMPANY, or ya know I have respect for the creator and would not like to create NSFW art of a character I enjoy in a SFW setting
There are also people who bid on my auctions then they dont respond for the allotted time given.
You do realize theres a time limit right? Usually about 3 days is my minimum.
Its there for a reason
And raffles also apply to this number
I put precise instructions, sometimes even asking friends to double read them to make sure that the rules make sense and I am not missing anything

My raffles are made how I want them and if you dont read, I may just have to block you or blacklist you from ever winning my raffles again
Raffles are for fun, stop making my life stressful with your nonsense
3. Trolls/Annoyances
Why

I dont like *TRRIIIIGGGGEEERRREEEDDDD* jokes on my journals about my uncle dying. Why did you think this was ok?
I reeeeaaallllllyyyyyyyy dont care for when you just assume things. Why cant you read the rules like everyone instead of assuming your above them
The real world will NOT bend to your will, why should I?
Nitpicking: Oh my God. I cant even with this. Yes I understand if I dont get a specific detail right, sure thats on me. But nitpicking my work to the point that I'm pissed instead of having fun with a piece? Good God. I work with premade lineart made by other artists that I have to work with my average skills to fit YOUR character. Its not as easy as it looks sometimes.
4. Characters
Some of your characters are freakin awesome, and I LOVE how much of a variety that everyone has with different colors and species!
One massive complaint I have. Character or species theft
I double and triple check to make sure you own your character if I am unsure. I REFUSE to continue the cycle of characters being stolen. I have made other rants about this in another journal.
But giving me an imgur or discord link to your ref just doesnt cut it. I need to VERIFY that YOU own your character. Theft is VERY common in this fandom. Like scarily so. Hell if someone took my Willow and got sexual art of her I would most likely have a straight up panic attack over it. Like a literal anxiety attack. Cuz she is NOT a sexual OC of mine. I am VERY attached to her.
Just as an example.
Species theft
Ya know this pisses me off alot
I am in a number of closed and open species, you may have even seen a few of my characters from them being posted in OC-tober.
But stealing a species and making your own WITHOUT talking to the creator of the species??? Yes I KNOW it costs money most times. BUT did you ever stop and think, maybe THIS is how that artist makes money to have a roof over their head or food in their bellys? By selling imaginary creatures that people like the design of to get more art of?
I understand if you didnt know. But if you do and then STILL make it. You are basically scum to me.
I cant respect that. I just cant.
Anyways, I guess the TLDR is: I am tired of staying quiet and dealing with the bullshit behind the scenes.
I dont like doing things that cause me more stress and cause by my anxiety and depression to skyrocket. I dont want to pull "that" card. But its what I live with

Just treat your artists with respect. And for me respect is earned. And when you pull something of the above? You loose it and get put on my, never again will I deal with you, list. And yes that exists for me and many others.
Artists are people too, We have feelings and lives outside of yours, and sometimes the shit you pull makes our life hell. So stop it.

The artist likely has other work they have to prioritize because money is unfortunately an important part of life in this shit world.
You having that kind of attitude will prevent artists from *wanting* to do free art.
If you're that worried, ask for a wip (gently). But if you're already asking, and often, you're going to make your piece take longer. Because pressuring an artist will always make your piece take longer.
Have some patience.
I had someone block me when I finished a piece and asked for payment. There went part of my dogs get bill- it's just so freaking annoying.
Maybe try taking payment first? Thats what I've always done so I only really get stiffed when they havent paid me to start yet XD
But yeah thats just shitty and I'm sorry it happened to you...
I know someone named "Iron" but on multiple different sites have the name "Iron" in different languages for example, and all sites are linked back to the original
Sometimes it takes hours of digging, if they dont answer for a while, and sometimes it just takes a click
Say they give me an imgur link, blank profile
They may have art of the character uploaded on toyhouse, or DA, or something with the same or similar username
Its a super fine line and I HAVE denied coms when I just dont feel comfortable with no information or not enough to verify that they own the character
