Regarding cheating in relationships
So, recently my latest commissions featuring Karen got some mixed opinions. I didn't expect to have offended anyone by drawing or posting this artwork, and so was, at first, surprised to find out that the commissioner had received unpleasant messages, and then later I also.
I want to start off by apologizing. I'm truly sorry to anyone who I offended. It was not my intention, and at the time I just felt like I was completing another commission and didn't think anything else of it.
I understand though, why this is such a controversial subject. I myself, do not agree with cheating of any form, as most people don't. Having had it happen to me multiple times, it's an awful thing to experience. I'm also aware of how hypocritical it was of me, to make a comic about a guy staying faithful to his wife, only for her to turn around and cheat on him. However, I do want to say, I never considered any commissions I make of my characters to be canon.
Nevertheless, I have removed the artwork from my gallery to avoid offending anyone else.
As for future commissions, I've decided to not take any commissions featuring my characters with others from now on. Not only because of this situation, but because my characters are quite personal creations, and my fiancé helped me realize that I should be more respectful with them; how I draw them, and who I draw them with. Usually, I do think about that, but money troubles had me forgetting to really care about what I do with my characters. In particular, karen is not a character I personally felt attached to in any kind of emotional way, but I will still not involve her in future commissions.
Again, I'm deeply sorry to anyone who I offended.

People are complaining seeing characters with others?
If so, how redundant knowing many get art with others all the time
Karen was drawn having sex with somebody else's character, as was commissioned. But the context of the commission, as well as the root of the controversy, is that she was having sex with somebody, yet she was married, as one could tell from the phone conversation she was having with her unaware husband. It's morally wrong on two accounts: One, infidelity is an inexcusable act in any form of a romantic relationship, especially marriage; and two, the piece technically went against the sort of character Celeste has depicted the two of them for what I can assume is for a long time. It went against their canon, if you will.
She's still in some saucy situations without her husband, but those are one-offs with friends and the one "story" with her and other guys pre-dates my change of heart, but I'm still going to finish the story anyway.
I was never offended by your art, but it's good that you've come to an understanding with yourself about the subject.
I do get the thing about deciding to not draw your characters with those of other folks. I got two nsfw ych images of my sona in the past with random folks in the other slot, but these days I'll only get such art if I have both slots (different reason, though, that she's me).
I apologise if this is a stupid question
You draw what you want to draw! Don't let a couple sticks in the mud stop you.
Ten to one half of these people are the kind who think they're their fursona's and want to marry renamon. Smh.
I respect your choice in the matter and sure, cheating at its core is pretty terrible for many, many reasons and Ive been also a victim of it. But in the realm of fantasy, its a bit less serious imo since the only thing you're hurting is fictional characters fictional scenarios. Its on par with watching some movie character do something horrid and calling in to complain about not liking it. You really have to learn to disassociate yourself from some stuff. Trying to cope with everyone's emotion just turns you into a mold to be shaped by others, leaving you less creative.
Im real sorry you, and your commissioner got the rough end for something the two of you agreed to do though.
Again I am really grateful for the pictures and apologise for any pain or distress it caused
Art is meant to provoke sometimes and if people don't like it or can't understand it then they should just go look at something they enjoy
"FUCK 'EM IF THEY CAN'T TAKE A JOKE!"
1. The commissioner asked you willing about the piece and you agreed, morally is even cheating if both parties agreed to do it? Plus if seen many couples on this site have their OCs have playtime with other peoples OC.
2. These are Fictional characters, they are not real people. I know people see their OC's as themselves but the end of the day their fantasies that they imagine themselves. I know life is hard and this site is more or less an escapist fantasy. I know I'm oversimplify it but at the end of the day I am not my OC who is a lizard who lives and hunts in the swamps and sleeps with a pirate.
3. It's a kink. Even if you don't like it, don't bash others for enjoying it or indulging in it. I mean should I bash every other kink on this site like vore? incest? rape? And to bring it back to point 2 I made, these are fictional characters in a fictional setting. It's not like the commissioner slept with the artist in real life.
Also I'm going to say, most adult sites have sub sections of "cheating wives/girlfriends". Just going to say this your going to have way easy time finding that kind of content than "feral" content.
I guess I was wrong with the sorts of messages I received and feel very kink shamed and all sorts of shitty so yeah I guess even online your not safe, lesson learned
I'm really sorry you got so much hate over this, it really isn't right for you or Celeste. I wish you well.
Keep it posted, let them be salty. It's their own insecurities driving it.
So I can pretty much understand how rape victims and people hurt by rape would dislike rape pics. And cheating victims and people hurt by cheating would dislike cheating pics. You'd be hard-pressed to find somebody victimized by vore though. But I'd suspect that people who medically need adult diapers because of incontinence might be rather put off by people fetishizing their unpleasant medical condition.
Then I guess it just comes down to artist patterns. When an artist suddenly changes tack and posts something that you'd not expect from them, it creates a shock and a feeling of betrayal. People won't watch artists who always post things they dislike. But when an artist they like suddenly does it, it feels bad to them.
Plus the fact that the act of cuckoldry is consensual between all parties. The cuck approves of the bull and it ties into humiliation kink. There's a LOT of men who actively seek out those relationships. It's not anyone's responsibility to cater to those who are upset by it when they could choose to ignore it (would be easier if FA had a blacklist options but it's FA). Basically stop pissing on people over shit that isn't real. There's a LOT of fetishes on FA that I'm not comfortable with, but I don't go to their profiles and shit them up and have a tantrum about it.
While art itself is victimless, art depicts fictional events that can resemble real events that have victims. Art is made to evoke a mental response. Without knowledge, art is just pigment on squished trees for example. Knowledge is what allows somebody to see an image, to imagine the depicted scene, and to have an emotional response. So when a person who has been a victim sees art depicting such victimization, they will have the knowledge to know what that victimization brings and they'll have the emotional response that goes with that victimization.
Example:
Guys who have never been kicked in the nuts might laugh at a video of somebody being kicked hard in the nuts. To them, it's just amusing. By comparison, guys who HAVE been will watch the same video and cringe, wince, and have an echo of the immense pain they experienced. No laughing or fun for them.
I can't speak to the particular art in question here. I don't know what was up or taken down. I can't say if it was depicting consensual cuckolding - the concept that the woman has rights to her body and who she lets pork her, and the husband accepts that he has no say over this - or if it was victimless art (because it's just pixels) depicting a victim situation - such as a previously-agreed monogamous relationship failing monogamy. But again, I'm not here to complain. I'm just explaining why people complain.
Er... What is "GM/T"? I'm unable to find any definition that makes sense.
I can't find anything in your gallery of Karen since July 2017
Yes, it is a sensitive topic for many people, but if the commissioner wanted that, and you were comfortable depicting a character of yours in that manner, then that's that. End of story. You are not beholden to your audience on what you draw. If they don't like it, they can just move along.
I've seen some shit, and every day I see a little more. A family friend's kid blindly drives the go-kart he built in front of a speeding truck. Another friend's room mate beats him and steals from him, while the equally psychopathic landlady gleefully tries to extort money out of him for damage that was present before he ever moved in. A Captain runs afoul of the 'Three Sisters' rogue wave while chartered for a school field trip—his life, his reputation, and two children go down with the boat. It's a nasty world out there, and we're all vulnerable. Every single person you meet (or don't meet, for that matter) is, you know... a person. Like you. They have real, awful problems, and sometimes those problems don't have solutions or tenable outcomes. Don't forget that when you're tempted to visit your special brand of narcissistic sunshine on them. If the only real person that actually gets hurt is the one you browbeat over imaginary crimes, then you are the asshole.
I feel like the most people complaining never even had the experience, they just grab onto any situation that can put them onto moral high ground so they escalate the problem, which in my eyes here- is none. Fucking snowflake justice warriors..
Celeste, PLEASE, have some standards, don't try to appeal to literally everyone, especially people like that, they're not worth it. I can respect decision regarding personal characters, this is really something I can get behind and truly understand, but don't ever consider anything for loud minorities, You do it once and they'll suck You dry, especially in art community that is full of so enlightened and special people... they are special, alright, but for the wrong reasons.
Do what You want to do, these are Your characters, it's Your lore, You decide whats canon and what's not, fuck those people, shesh.
Couldn't have said it better myself.
On the flip side, if this was an experience where something you drew, you later revisited & realized ‘ykno I actually am sorta uncomfortable with this’ & it leads to a positive change in your content, more power to ya, we are all constantly growing and improving. But DON’T do it simply because some people decided to throw shade over a commission that shows cheating.
Do you seriously feel okay with letting those types of people control how you feel about your own art?
You still have a fan in me.
