█████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████ Thought I would do something a little different and share some of my music tastes
with everyone since we're nearing the end of the year, so in order I have collected
my Top Ten songs of 2020, as well as a small comment about each and every song!
To be on the list, they either to have had come out during 2020, or if I
discovered them within 2020 even if they came out prior.
///WARNING///
If you're not into the metal stuff, then you might want to turn a lot of the music
down as there is A LOT of screaming and heaviness in the upcoming videos!
10.
Stray Kids - TOP
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o7lqCcE4Lho
Starting off with some Korean on the list (Singing in Japanese of course), and
one of the main things to get me interested in a anime is the Opening, this being
the opening song for Tower Of God, which was pretty damn good!
9.
Nightwish - Noise
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LczGSoibRe8
I haven't listened to Nightwish in years, nor have been a proper fan, but they
knocked this one right out of the park, and you always tend to find something
new everytime you watch the video, a reason to keep rewatching it.
8.
Eskimo Callboy - Hypa Hypa
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=75Mw8r5gW8E
A German band this time, and who says Germans can't do comedy? There's so much
energy in the track, and the video always gives you a good laugh and leaves
a smile on your face.
7.
DMC5 - Bury The Light
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jrg9KxGNeJY
HUGE Devil May Cry fan (No That's not how I got the name) and this, this was
phenomenal, not only did it destroy all the previous themes, but it's fucking
9 Minutes long! Do love me a long track me.
6.
Falling In Reverse - The Drug In Me Is Reimagined
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B2cbhYihBWY
Now, I've never been a fan, I've never listened to any of their stuff, so I didn't
have high expectations when I previewed this, yet I call it pretty close to a
masterpiece. (Btw if you haven't listened to the original version, DON'T)
5.
Linkin Park - She Couldn't
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OplU67FMw5U
If you know me, LP is my bread and butter, my favorite band since Hybrid Theory
first came out, introducing me to metal. I've listened to more or less every song
more than I can can't, so I very surprised that this one escaped me all this time.
4.
Bring Me The Horizon - Kingslayer
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fKyXvNkGQKc
BMTH quickly became one of my fave bands over the past few years, having getting
into them a little late, and they have been killing it non-stop. I've been looking
forward to this album all year, and I've more or less had it on all stop!
3.
Let Them Fall - Fenrir
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=488V7YxLozw
This was an accidental find, I was searching for something whilst in the middle
of writting up some concepts, and it was exactly what I was looking for for some
inspiration, it's just a shame they disbanded after only 2 albums.
2.
Grey Daze - Sickness
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=if3ktXPXT9Y
Back with Chester, and I purposefully didn't listen to the original stuff so that
this album wouldn't be spoiled for me. Even back then, Chester had an amazing
voice, that and newer style mixed together made an amazing product.
1.
TOKILLACHILLIES - Beautiful Mourning
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pcYPk_5e3Ek
This was another accidental find, and it destroyed me. It hit me, harder than
anything else, it's the first time I actually broke down to a song, having lost
my mother this song got me bad, it's a physical representation of emotions from
during that time, all the anger, sadness, despair, everything. I even left a
comment on the video about how amazed I was by their song and how it mad a wave
of emotions come flooding back, and they were kind enough to offer a supportive
reply, which is why this song is my Number 1 this year.
'So sorry to hear that man, it's an awful thing to go through and it never leaves,
best thing you can do is keep her memory alive by talking about her. Hope you're
ok now man, thanks for feeling something, thats the exact thing we hoped to
achieve with this song.' - TOKILLACHILLIES
Honourable Mentions
They didn't quite make the list, but I've still enjoyed them thouroughly, so go
and check them out!
