US: The vote is over...
More or less.
For me, as a German, it is strange that even 8 days after election day, the votes are stil being count. In germny ballots close by 6 pm. by 8 pm there is a first result. and the next morning we know who won. but okay.
Here is what I have to say, and sorry pals, this is my way of seeing things. Life has taught me these lessons.
First. Yes, I am glad Trump has been voted out. But not because he is a dictator (he is not, if you still believe he is, then you have no idea what a dictatorship is like and you really should ask a person in china or North Korea ;) ), no. I am glad he is gone since he was loud, provoking and after his first months in office he because the president I cared for the least of all. I just did not care anymore.
Well, Biden has won. And though I am glad Trump is gone. Sorry, sweetheart, but I will not horray like many of you. Here is why : First, I do not trust politicians that are seen like a new messiah. Last time we had this, was Obama, and he really knew how to walk Russians ass and sending new nukes into my homecountry (thank you once again, Barak... :/ )
Second reason is: It is kidna stupid or at least naive to cheer for someone who, right now, is not even in office. Yes, he has been the vice pres, but right now we do NOT know what will come.
Third: (most important point) I hope he will try to figure out why 70 million american voted for a rich, loud guy, saying he cares for poor people or the underpaid while he himself is a billionaire. Because, after all Biden is the president of ALL americans. Not only for those who voted for him. There is something going wrong in the US. and I do not blame white or hispanics or blacks or so. No, something is off in the system at all. Man people seem to feel forgotten, messed with.
Until a pres comes around that really wants to mind that Problem, which is the really biggest problem the US has, things will go on and on.
now, go and earn the cheers, Mr. Biden.

I might not visit several websites and avoid certain groups for the next few months until the topic truly dries up.
I dread what's to come once the year ends
As a result, laws and systems are created with the benefit of the wealthy and powerful in mind. The rich get richer while the poor are trampled underfoot. A lot of the downtrodden of America put up with this or are even strongly in favour of it because they believe that some day they will be rich and will benefit from low taxes and a lack of protection and employee rights for the poor. The myth that if you do as you're told and work hard you will be rich one day is still a very strong factor there with some people.
These are just my thoughts of course. I really like America and the times I've visited I've always been blown away by how friendly and kind Americans are. It's a great place and does a lot right. I just feel like it could be even better if they could get the money out of politics somehow. Maybe limit the budget of each party? That way fund raising would become less important and the nations leaders would have more time to help their own people rather than spending most of their time trying to win favour with the super rich.
and yes. the myth of work hard and you succeed. haha. I know this is hard to those trying, but. Nope. you will not succeed. But the rich ones are for sure happy you work harder for them XD No really. I do not feel good laughing at people trying to make ends meet. I do understand that they try still...
That they are o
Postmarked before election day, and you cannot justnstip the counting.
And, kumbartha, I am sayingnthis withouth bias, but people did want the counting of mail-in ballots tp start before electiob day, and I am saying this as neutrally as I can, but Republican governors in some states did not want that, and noe they are blaming democrats for it takibg too long.
I am not trying to sway you, but what else can I say? It is not just a "both-siderism" issue for this instance.
I am sorry.
And like I said, there is actuall, documented legislation, regardless of political belief, or whatever one's favored party is, that republicans in states like Pennsylvania made it hard for votes to be counted earlier.
I woll not make you read an article, but I will link to a more credible source as citation is important.
1. Republicans, who control part of the state's government, gave the govrnor a poisoned bill from the start.
2. Their proposal would allow easier vote-counting, at the cost of removing many ballot boxes and increasing the risk of covid exposure, and ensuring soa larger number of people might not vote. (basically pretending to play along.)
3. Being close to the election, and not wanting to make people sick or lose their vote, the governor refused the bill.
4. Republicans now blame democrats for votes taking so long.
(I am only linking to make sure it is known that I am not just speaking out of feeling bad)

I was apolagizing since I am used to friends going extreamly far right to the point were they won't listen to me even if I am try to be neutral.
I have lost my boyfriend now that he has become a transphobic bully and calls me a sheep for wearing a mask and worrying about getting my parents sick.
YOu'll find somone with a sane mind^
This is not a partisan issue. I sent my ballot in the mail weeks ahead. It counts and is valid.
Do not make this a dem or rep thing, both-siderism is not helping anyone.
If one side wants to burn down a house's, and the other does not want to, burning down half of the house is not a compromise.
Covid is real,
covid is deadly,
And the oompa loompa lost.
It is weak to not be able to handle the real world.
Ask the person directly why people say they are dead.
I did not say or accuse others of anything in what I said in this thread. I have not made things up to futhur an agenda either .
(warning, extreme example, but I don't know how to explain things.)
Remember how in Rwanda and the genocide, the government tried to make their victims look bad also so the world would think it is just more tribal infighting?
Debate is supposed to be healthy woth either sode arguing in good faith, and I would never live in a nation were I cannot vote or have a say, arguing is supposed to be done in good faith to find a better answer.
One person can be just as wrong as many.
I am sorry if I sounded mean there, I was not trying to be.
and I still do nto get what is terrible about testing a vaccine?
90% of native Americans died of disease over 500 years, and is an example of how bad things cam be at times.
I am sorry about all the politics, and will attempt to wind it down here if I have to ^^
