Hey friends..... My mom has been awake since this morning. They are doing breathing exercises with her so they can take her off of the ventilator. The worst is behind her. It will be an uphill recovery but she hopefully will be coming home eventually. Bless you all for being there for me. I'm sorry it took so long for me to reply but I've been taking care of my niece, bills, and the house for a week now with little help and being alone. I'm still shaky as hell and will be until she is home safe.

It probably won't be quick but hopefully soon I hope. She is still a bit rough.

She is slowly. The doc took her off of the ventilator for an hour today. Breathing was good but still a tad weak.

Thanks buddy. She is still there but the hospital is still trying to get the ventilator tube out of her throat. They claim that she becomes nervous when they try and remove it. They don't want to upset her however it does need to come out so she can eat, talk, etc. I wish they would just get on with it. I feel me and my sister are being jerked around. UGH!!!!

Yes but they are still messing around and not removing the tube. They claim that she becomes nervous when they try and remove it. They don't want to upset her however it does need to come out so she can eat, talk, etc. I wish they would just get on with it. I feel me and my sister are being jerked around. UGH!!!!

Yeah....i mean, supposedly the tube can induce gagging when you take it out and it might be a hot minute of feeling intensely uncomfortable so I can understand her not wanting to experience that right now. Maybe you can comfort her and she will slowly accept that things will be ok?

Sadly I can't be there because of covid precautions. Sister talked to a smart nurse last night assuring us mom is ok.

Ahh. I had forgotten that everyone has a hospital with limited interaction possible. :/

Thank goodness for the nurse! It is nice that Mom is still okay.
