Morning Scare

So uhh its been aloooong while since I last made a journal and this post will be a scary thing that happen very recently... it was two days ago from now I'm making this post
So anyone with an elderly parent will know that taking care of them is #1 priority and that they are old and stuff happens. Well in the morning and this was very early for me at 7:30am I woke up and hear a loud few thuds downstairs. I didn't think much of it as it sounded like my dad dropped some things like he normally does but it didn't take 1 second to hear something I never want to hear, a cry for help.
I heard him call out and my brother was much faster then me to get out of bed and rush downstairs to find our father on the floor fallen over, took me a bit to get up as I was nestled under two blankets and a sleeping bag since my room gets cold. The second I reach the stairs I see his legs and feet at the bottom and I now know why he called out and I was scared. Don't worry he didn't fall down the stairs, he sleeps downstairs. He was going to get the news paper and when he was walking back in he tripped over the 3in little step that was out doorway and fall onto the floor, he did try to grab the nearby railing but he slipped and just hit the floor. He was heavy for us both to lift up so we slid him on his rear to the stairs and got him to move up one step so we could lift him back on his feet. Luckily he didn't get hurt and only broke a toe nail kicking that small step but it was still really scary to experience very early in the morning. He's lucky and so are we are able to be woken up easily and keep our ears out for him calling for us.
We couldn't lift him up btw as he's around 200+ pounds, even though he's 81 and I'm not able to lift even 50 pounds myself. My brother is stronger but still he needs help lifting things here and there. So I hope this was helpful with stuff happening in my life, Tomorrow ill upload more uplifting things for you all to read and update on other things too.

The fact he only broke a toe nail and yell for help loudly is a blessing. Means you and your brother should cherish the time you still have left with him, what with this stupid pandemic being brutally indiscrimenate on who dies or not.
