Yes, I'm starting to work through one of the one star quests or something. :) I forget the guy's name... Playing story mode.

Warrior of Light, you just started Story Mode.

Yeah. I plan to devote more time to it this weekend.

I have Dissidia and have played it quite a bit, finding it a decent challange at times until I got to the Chaos fight in Shade Impulse chapter 4. Needless to say, I'm rather pissed at the sheer difficulty and cheap tactics he used for that fight. Took me about fifteen tries to finally beat his first form, and when I saw you had to fight him again, right away, the term 'ragequit' was an understatement at that point... Until I read you had to fight him three times in a row...

I'm still playing it, just level grinding and trying to get as many accomplishments as I can...

And the christmas cards sounds like a nice idea. Not sure if I'd have the time to participate in it...

Seriously? Who did you use? I beat Chaos on my first run against him without losing any HP using Zidane (Which is probably the best character to use against anyone). I already figured before I even came up to him that I would have to fight him 3 times in a row from the natural familiarity of FF Last Boss Fights. If you ever played any FF games in the past, you know the last boss has multiple stages before it's actually over.

What do you mean you don't know if you have time to participate in it? If you're sending out Christmas Cards and plan on sending me one, you have it made. I'm not expecting anyone to send me a gift in a card just because I am, I'm just doing it because I want to.

Oh yes, I'm a Final Fantard and very versed with the nature of FF bosses, I was just hoping that since this was more of a fighting game, we wouldn't have to go through all of that rigamarole of multiformed boss fights... Plus I had been reading up on all the other modes unlocked afterwards, and figured this wasn't THE end boss.

I was using Bartz at level 54 I think, since I seemed to be doing rather well with him up to that point. What was getting me was the sheer reach of his attacks and how you could dodge one part of his (can't remember name of attack, but the attack that ends with the HP draining vertical laser), but easily hets me at the last part.

Any major hints to offer?

And as for the Christmas cards, I don't know what I was thinking on that. I think my Dissidia rage was still boiling while thinking about my fight against Chaos. :)

*Breaks loaf of bread on your head* If you ever played Ehrgeiz, that would have been the biggest clue that being a fighting game doesn't matter when FF characters are in it. *Grins*

Ah Bartz, Zidane's buddy. Haven't used him to beat Chaos yet. Lvl.54 is a serious chancer when fighting Chaos. Lvl.65 is the lowest I used to withstand the barrage enough to whip Chaos good. When it comes to that attack, it's pretty much a guaranteed GAME OVER with a level below Lvl.84 and a low defense unless you have high Bravery and very-very lucky. And if you think that's bad, just wait until you see his actual Final Attack if you manage to live through the first.

The best suggestion is to max out your abilities that works best with your playing style. I use Accessories that focus on my EX Gauge so I can get it maxed out quickly so I can activate the EX Burst. Activate the EX gauge when you need to temporarily make yourself invincible long enough to get in an HP attack while negating a current attack. Activating the EX Burst at the right moment can give you the chance to win. The problem is that getting the gauge full the next match can be far more a task than the first.

Might be best if you focus on getting your level & Abilities mastered before truly taking him on. Do more training on the bonus days for EXP & AP. Also get better acquainted with your Summons' effects, for the Manuals actually have a better effect and the effects in general can help you beat the crap out of Chaos by taking care of his Bravery so you can cause more HP damage.


It's ok. Just take it easy on Chaos and replay the other chapters a bit to learn and chill.

Well, that makes me feel a bit better, knowing that I'm rather underlevel at this point. Ah, to go grind myself stupid. :)

I'll have to waste some time doing Arcade Hard to get more Rosetta Stones and max out accessory slots.

Rosetta Stones aren't easy to come by on the common, but you can heighten your chances of getting material to BattleGen it. I don't know if you've unlocked it yet, but there are items in the Etc. of the PP Catalog that improves your chances for item drops. Buy as many of those as you want and make sure you get into battles that you know you can win so you can get more dropped items. Once you unlock Duel Colosseum Mode, you'll be able to earn many things to help your accomplishments.

As a suggestion for AP gain, try to equip any accessory that improves AP gain and try to master at least 1 of the highest costing Abilities while mastering the others. When you Master an ability, the cost of using that ability is cut in half, thus giving you the chance to add it to other Abilities.

If you want to level faster, Play Arcade mode, set the difficulty to the highest setting, equip exp gaining accessories and set the enemy to ExDeath. He's the slowest of all the characters, so you should have a good chance of simply hitting him. You get experience just for hitting your opponent, so that's all you really have to do while trying your best not to get killed since you get more Exp when you win. Though you might want to take it easy and just start with setting the enemies level 10 levels higher than your own and go up every 10 when you beat them from there.

Used a level 83 Zidane, took two tries to beat all three forms! Still just as cheap, only now was able to last much, much longer with more HP!

Still think it's incredibly cheap that you need to practically be at full power to really take hold of him, but eh, I was jumping for joy when I did it. Thanks for the tips! :)

*Smiles* It's my pleasure. I beat him with Bartz at Lvl62 yesterday, and it was a real pain. Had to manage with using the Bravery attacks I had equipped and then figure out a strategy that worked with the other abilities I had equipped. You really don't need to max out your character to beat Chaos, but it definitely helps. I still have 3 Cosmos Characters to beat the game with, then I have to start with the Chaos group.

Hmm... gonna have to start thinking about what could fit inside a Christmas card. >.>

Besides specific memory cards and Gift cards to specific things? Probably just that, but some might think of other things.

You could just leave it at gift cards in your case, since my knowledge of compatibility internationally is not my forte.

I dunno if even that would work but I WILL give it some thought.

I loved your gift last year. That hairbrush was wonderful, and I use it every day. I love Christmas cards, or getting mail in general just makes me happy.
