Okay, so I've had to return TWO laptops to fry's already. :/ Apparently, in the digitizers they used to register the tablet controls were not compatible with the ones photoshop and other such art programs need. So! I finally did even more research on the internet and found the model I need.... only problem? No stores in my area carry them -_- So, On the first we'll be ordering it straight from the manufacturer's website. Can't order it until October 1st, won;t get it until 1-2 weeks after that.
Bleh, half of my commissions are digital right now, but without a tablet I'm dead in the water. :(

FA+

First, they don't currently offer any form of Tablet PC at all, second, I can only run 1 of the games I'm currently playing, and it's the one I play the least (Second Life),third, for the same amount of computing power in the average mac laptop, I can get a PC for about half the price. Yeah, the no virus thing is pretty good, but when you regularly back up your files on an external hard drive, and know how to use anti-virus, internet security, and no-script programs/extensions, the threat is pretty much nothing more than an inconvenience, which is still favorable to the inconvenience of not having a computer that does what you need it to. :/
I'm just, not under the spell of macs so many other artists seem to be. :/ Everything I can do with a mac, I can do on a PC and then some. I'm not sure why people think they are so great. <.< >.>
I will show you mine. :D:D:D:D People are mislead by the old macs they remember from middle school!! The mac is the one that can do all the same stuff and THEN some. XD
i can run ANYTHING.
I use macs at school all the time, they are pretty good computers I'm not trying to diss them, but, like I said the reason I'm buying a PC is for the tablet functionality. If they release one and it doesn't cost an arm and a leg, I'd think about getting one.
Haha, they cost that price because you really do get what you pay for when you look at the specs. They're powerful, but if you're not gonna use it for running Maya, SL, Photoshop, and god knows what else I end up opening at the same time then there really is no point to having that much power on a laptop. I originally got one for rendering massive files in Final Cut Pro(mac program only) and Adobe After Effects for my reel in college and was pleasantly surprised.
I wish they'd hurry up and finish with the tablet mac they've had designed for a year though! lol.
