Not counting the Fritz the Cat comics, he did the first adult-oriented furry comic I ever saw, Rowf. He also did the cover for Meatloaf's Bat Out Of Hell, which I loved as a teen. Hopefully they'll release an omnibus of his best work some day.

I own a copy of House on the Borderland that he drew, and I've seen more than a little of his art over the years. He was a great artist.

2020 man. I first came across his stuff in a book about how to draw comics I saw in the Jr. High Library, where they printed pages from Rowlf. Then I saw his work in Heavy Metal, and some comics I picked up at the Comics & Comix shop on Telegraph Ave. in Berkeley. He was unique and had a very singular style. His handling of light, even with limited printing techniques was something to behold.

Wotta talent. He made some fantastic contributions to the underground comix too, before Heavy Metal.
