So Neko's Number 1 Animation Recommendation of 2020 is...
Could it be that film Neko kept talking about in every single stream They've been into? Could it be the film I based a couple of ponies I recently got off? Could it be the film Neko updated their profile for and added into their Favourite TV Shows and Films for those eagle eye among you? Could it be that film perhaps?
...Well I do sorta want to give a shout-out to Helluva Boss right here as an honoury mention. I didn't add it on the first list because they only had one episode out at the time so not really something you could call a series, but now a second episode came out, I recommend you look up both of those on Youtube.
But yeah, the Number 1 suggestion I advise you check out is Wolfwalkers.

From the animation team that brought you The Secret of Kells and Song of the Sea comes this beautiful 2D Animated feature. Which is a rare thing as is nowadays so to get one this good looking is sorta miraculous and reason alone to check this film. The autumnal palette of the film with it's lush forests and vibrant wildlife with it's brilliant sketchy drawn characters that remind me of the pencil sketchy designs of the original 101 Dalmatians. It's a visual treat, but on top of that, we also got some great characters with the main leads of Robyn and Mebh, maybe it's the Midna fan inside me that gets me to like Mebh, as her sharp teeth and wild bounciness reminds me of her, but Mebh is great, and the story of Robyn finding out about the Wolfwalkers and about herself is great to see unfold and is probably the second highlight of the film after it's animation. The story is admittingly fairly simple and basic, but the execution of the story is perfectly done. It hits every beat right and makes you invested in each character and attached to the stakes of the film expertly well. And then add the great score on top of that as well with some brilliant musical moments, got some great mythology and it's a fun different take on a Werewolves story as well. I cannot praise this film enough.
This film was the main inspiration for me to write up this whole list in the first place. Easily my favourite animated feature of the year, and maybe of the last several years as well. The only things that have come close are How to Train Your Dragon and Spiderverse, and I might rank this film over both of them.
So, how do I watch this film you ask? Well, it's on Apple TV+ right now. Just went up today (I got to watch the film early thanks to some Online Film Festivals, though I'll be watching it again with Apple TV+ to hopefully watch it in the best quality. At least until a 4K Blu Ray comes out).

There's another trailer there (It's a bit more spoilery though, so be warned) as well as the film itself. Now for those of you worrying about needing to buy yet another streaming service. I will tell you that there is a 7 Day Free Trial for Apple TV+, so you can just create an account, watch Wolfwalkers, watch it again because you also fall in love with the film, then can unsubscribe from Apple TV+ afterwards without needing to spend a penny or a cent if you wish to do so.
Hope you check out all of my animation suggestions I have given you over these last 2 weeks. I look forward to hearing back from your opinions on them in the comments below. Now excuse me, I have some Wolfwalkers to watch and some puzzles and clues to write for a giveaway as well.

I'll throw in my vote for Wakfu and Dofus, a pair of French animated shows based on games of their respective names (although besides some tongue in cheek references knowing their source material is never necessary). Wakfu is on Netflix, but note that the subs are pretty much required since the dub is *awful*.
