Over 12,000 Sunrises and Sunsets + Mathematical Explanati...

On previous birthdays, I've written a sentimental look back on my life. This year, I've decided to set aside those sentiments and write something very nerdy.
Over 12,000 sunrises and sunsets have occurred since my birth on December 13, 1986. How I came about that calculation:
- I used a website to help me quickly calculate how many leap years have occurred between 1986 and 2020. Those leap years were 1988, 1992, 1996,2000, 2004, 2008, 2012, 2016, and 2020.
- Since there have been9 8 leap years since I was born, I multiplied 9 8 by 366 and got 3,294 2,928 days.
- Since there have been25 26 regular years since I was born, I multiplied 25 26 by 365 and got 9,125 9,490 days.
- Adding it all together, my initial total is12,419 12,418. As I was born late on a Saturday night (11:11 PM, if you want to be precise), I subtracted one day from that total for a grand total of 12,417 sunrises and sunsets since December 13, 1986.
I admit I had previously never been a fan of mathematics, though in more recent years, I would say that math has grown on me. ^^;
