I understand why people do this - for people from different time zones to see/place bids on YCHs. I mean how else do you get this across everyone? And also consider that not everyone has other social media full of watchers and etc. which also leads to what you mentioned.
It’s not a rant or anything, just if you think about it and try to put yourself in the perspective of the one selling the YCH, that kinda makes sense why people do this x) You may disagree and that’s totally okay :D

I understand why its done, its just super frustrating having to clear out the same 30 or so YCHs out of submissions every day. There are non-popularity biased websites as options for people who dont have a huge following (eg: https://ych.commishes.com/) and if youre running a YCH for weeks (which is when it becomes frustrating to see the same few submissions daily or multiple times a day) then you can for sure post at different times of the day to hit different timezones.

I want to watch and support these artists, even jump on a YCH or sale when a good YCH comes along. Or these are artists ive bought from in the past already, and want to support them further. But its a burden onto me to do so.

Yes, I totally understand your frustration. Would be a cool thing if FA’s interface would somewhat sort the submissions on like actual pieces and reminders (that would be a dream tho x’D) like you know same system as in e-mails where you get the actual mails and the company mailings sorted in different folders for better user experience.

FA seems to not want to become a sales website. Providing no proper tools for running a "storefront", sorting and searching for open artists, YCHs etc.

There is a submission/search category for YCHs but its a mess of actual sales, reminders and finished projects, as you sorta alluded to.

I agree, I've only ever done 3 of them and the way I did the updates was only showing possible alt versions every few days apart.

Yeah, one person I watched started this year, I stopped watching about a month later precisely becuase of all they ever seemed to do was post YCH updates and reminder journels.

For real. I understand struggling to make a sale in a sorta.. saturated market? But if a YCH isnt selling maybe the issue is that the YCH just isnt that interesting, or its a bit too pricey for people? So many YCHs i pass on because theyre just simple pin-up poses or what i like to call "sitting pretty" poses where its just the character sitting on the floor or pillows "looking pretty" maybe sometimes with ribbons/ropes or a simple dress.

As a returning customer ive already gotten the "sitting pretty" pose for all my characters, im looking for something /interesting/ from a YCH

A trick I've seen a couple artists use:
They post all their reminders to a different account. That way, the reminders hit the front page and can grab a new audience, but don't annoy all their followers.

I like that approach.

I do what you do too, I hate it when I keep seeing reminders after reminders of the same YCH. I unwatched the artist.

Oddly enough, I had an artist who inboxed me about a week ago “Suggesting to look” at their art. I was not even watching this artist or were they watching me. The SB was $250 and no one bid on it. It was an instant block for me.

It's sadly annoying when this happens. I get 10000% why they do it. They want it to sell, that makes sense. A lot of times I want to see the new stuff too. But you're right. It does become a pain when I have to delete it multiple times throughout the day because it's getting reposted. I had one artist I was following that reposted every hour. That was a living hell. As mentioned before, would be really nice if they did the same thing with YCH reminders as they did with stream journals. One button, mass delete, clean. Or a separate area for them. Something has to be better than 67 submissions, all being reminders for YCHs.
