Power on!!

Today is a nice full day, while investigating a clunk on gigantor, I found a bad ball joint and a couple stripped wheel studs, so today is a whirlwind. rinse off the plow, drop the plow, go fetch the sander and load it up, spread some salt on the ice for my customers and then unload and wash the sander off. Next to pick up some plow parts and a pair of batteries for another truck (club truck) then head over there and borrow some garage space, swap in a pair of ball joints and wheel studs. Hopefully that goes smoothly and quickly. Once done the next task is to attack some wiring on the truck, wire up a new controller for the lights and accessories and re map some of the older switches for the built in truck functions like high idle etc.

Yeah it only makes noise when I load up the left side of the truck, much quieter while driving straight and completely goes away when swerving left. I thought for sure it was a front wheel bearing at first so I changed that out, then that didn't do it so I knocked out the brand new looking Timken rear axle bearings and replaced them with China's finest budget bearings, still no change. It's gotta be in the diff but it's not a gear noise I'm 90% positive this is bearing noise. The oil looks okay (dirty, but no silver swirl). Basically I haven't touched the truck since. It's too cold outside to be taking apart rear ends, and I don't want to tie up the lift/garage with a taken apart truck when I have so much better shit to work on in the meantime. Hah, I'll get to it one of these days. We've had fuck all for snow and I haven't needed to tow anything heavy, I'm this close to putting a hitch on the wife's CX-5 so I can at least scoot around little trailers. I'll deal with it in the spring when I need to drag around tractors and shit. Still planning on doing the back yard as soon as the ground thaws, will probably rent a mini excavator for stump duty, should be a fun time!
There's a lot of stumps. For large/ large-ish ones I'd say maybe a dozen. Small ones even more than that. Previous owner decided to cut down a wooded area and just leave it with the "freshly logged" look, brush piles and all -_- There's a couple of huge pines left in the CENTER of that area I'm gonna take down first as well, I guess they weren't worth selling to whoever came and bought all the hardwood trees... Once they're all pulled I want to level the whole back yard and make it usable too.
