Hindsight 2020

So that was a year.
Thanks to the pandemic, none of my plans went through. We're still in this same apartment. My son's kindergarten is remote learning so any drawing time I might have squeezed in while he was at school was gone. The in-laws thought the virus was a hoax right up until one of them caught it - luckily she made it through, but let's just say I'm not confident allowing them to babysit until vaccines have been distributed. And we were the lucky ones, so terribly fortunate not to have lost loved ones or jobs.
I'm proud of the fund raising I was able to do last summer for BLM and other social justice causes, and only wish I could have done more. I'm really grateful to have such a generous audience!
Looking forward to 2021, I'm reluctant to make concrete plans and I'm sure I'm not the only one. But here's the situation: I spent the last month working like a fiend to break the intimidating queue I'd accumulated over the year. I'm available once more!
Given that my commission queue was so unwieldy all last year, I want to be more careful and choosy about accepting commissions and be sure I can deliver completed work more quickly. Filling the gaps, I'd like to do more Fan Art Friday events and Saturday Sketch Raffles! Streaming has really been helpful getting some regular socializing in.
To that end, here's the first of hopefully many 2021 Fan Art Friday posts:
