The real thing to worry about is the almost inevitable impending crackdown on all kinds of radical speech and demonstration, which has always impacted those on the left and/ or of color more than anyone else to start with. Can't say I'm against his being deplatformed, but censorship is a really slippery slope. "Moderate" MOR "Good Guys" like Biden are the first type to encourage such crackdowns on the extreme right, and the next thing you know "To be fair" and with false equivalency they'll censor anarchists, Antifa, etc.

I wouldn't personally call anarchists or Antifa "Special interest groups" in that they actually encompass a rather wide field of thought -With the betterment of society at large, which effects everyone, and the imagining of and experimentation with ideas for better futures- which necessarily prefigure actually making the future better for everyone.

Charities also present their own problems. They're not perfect either. Many of them are topheavy or exist too much to perpetuate themselves. Many of them are directed by or rely too much on the largesse of people who have far too much money gained by possibly questionable means that then have too much control over how and where the money is spent. This is also commonly used to gloss over or salve the guilt they feel or deserve for their capitalist greed.

They're also more and more relied on to do things that the government either should be doing, and/ or could possibly do much more economically, and which could then be more democratically decided on by the people actually affected.

Personally, I don't think there's ANYTHING that can't be made fun of. It can definitely stray into the tasteless or offensive, but that can still be funny.

And I certainly hope you're not making the knee-jerk reaction to communism that this sounds like, and falling into the trap that so many Americans do of thinking that Soviet Russia or Communist China ever actually had communist political systems. They were and/ or are both totalitarian systems that really leaned more to the capitalist side than any type of true communism. They may have called themselves communist, but they weren't. True communism, or at least something more closely approaching it, has actually been limited to much smaller experiments, which have had somewhat more success. Communism in and of itself isn't necessarily any more evil than any other system, but I'd say it remains to be seen how well it can be achieved and maintained.

The cold war and the ongoing fear and animosity towards Russia (Putin's oligarchic and non-democratic rule notwithstanding), a country with an economy roughly the size of Italy's, or the ongoing whipping-up of a newer cold war with China (Its atrocious ongoing human rights record notwithstanding) I would suggest should be regarded suspiciously as potentially being part of the U.S.'s perceived need to always have an enemy in order to keep propping up a bloated military budget (Which dwarfs the combined military budgets of every other nation on the planet), and the U.S. military industrial complex, which sells instruments of death all over the world, therefore promoting innumerable conflicts.

The West is the best, anyone that tires to undermine that fact has never lived under a reign that denies rights. No one under oppression, real oppression, where your rights have been suspended, is laughing.

Much as I'd like to see solutions for crime beyond police and prisons, I can't think of any realistic alternatives for these scum at this point.

That actually sounds pretty reasonable. It would also be less expensive for all of us, save someone keeping a bit of an eye on them to make sure they don't communicate or conspire with anyone else inclined to such plotting.

I still think the Big Boss may need to rot in prison though. His crimes are so numerous, and he needs to be tried and convicted for all of them.
