out of the nearly 1000 people i watch, only ONE actually wrote a journal about the capitol attack, and it did not promote or incite anything, it was a "WTF is happening" kinda journal. most of the people here didnt even draw attention to it (or the BLM riots before it, or the 2016 election, or any major political event within the last 10 years...) but the admins had to go make a big statement and suck everybody here into the chaos when that was about the last thing people wanted here...no matter what their political ideology

yes we can continue using FA as a furry site, but the admins need to stop shoving politics down our throat, particularly when they actually take sides. nobody wants or needs to know how the admins feel about current events...how about they let us know about changes they're making to the site, or suggestions we can make for improvements, or furry cons/events being planned...things actually relevant to what 99% of people come here for

meh, drawing unnecessary attention to the problem will only make it a bigger issue, if they didnt go out making commentary in a huge public announcement, i doubt many people would have noticed unless they did watch close to 10k people (which even then, was likely a HUUUUGE minority among the userbase who said anything at all)

not to mention there are many people here who support the president without being rioters, no different than people who supported BLM without being rioters back when that was going on...yet FA didnt condemn the BLM riots (or the very mention of the event on this site) so yeah...all they succeeded in doing was making their bias known and made people feel unwelcome expressing their opinions here if they happen to pro-Trump (saying you agree with the cause of riots is much different than supporting the riots themselves) whatever the political ideologies of the admins actually are, these announcements just show they have a bias towards one side and seem to want to censor anybody who happens to agree with the opposing viewpoint

but oh man, if counting on people being civil is how we stop the admins from being unwanted and unneeded political commentators, then we're in real trouble XDXD people are anything but civil, the admins just need to carry on doing their jobs and take threats of violence on a case by case basis...rather than inflaming any given issue by saying LOOK GUYS!!!!!! in a huge public announcement >.<

It's crazy and I even warned my one overly political furry friend about it. Now I just cannot escape from Facebook anymore and more drama and users banned this will be causing. Even a lot of furry conventions (e.g. Anthrocon) are pushing politics as well and they're no different than FA.

its pathetic and unnecessary. whether you're into politics or not, the admins really need to focus on doing their job rather than pushing their own agenda, regardless of what spectrum it is. let the userbase form their own their own opinions and just stay the hell out of it (unless yeah, somebody is saying, "go tear this place up!" or something...but making a scene like this makes those who disagree with the admin's stance on XY or Z feel almost afraid to express their *non-violent opinions* on this site) whether they realize it or not, and good intentions in mind, they're actually harming their userbase by making them feel as if they have to take the same stance as the admins. FA should be officially apolitical, and any political discussion that happens here being purely incidental among consenting users XD

It's really sad, especially like when I just mentioned about the cons doing the same thing. I'm starting to feel like Anthrocon is becoming more like a "summer school university" type of thing and I'm just planning to skip this years con even though they had a virtual con last year with political stuff mentioned in it. I wish I could continue the aeromorph suit stuff from when I dressed as Owen at AC 2017, but I'm just going to wait a while and make tons of canvas paintings to make myself more money in the meantime.
