I get a mix of plantigrade and digitgrade art so I wonder about something.

Which type do you guys like more?

I love both types equally myself and get whatever type bases on artist style.

I do both. I don't mind plantigrade on everything so long as it's not human feet. Haha. But I prefer digigrade animals being digigrade anthros, and plantigrade be plantigrade. Like otters and such.

Oh I totally get it. I never get the human feet type on my wuff either just digitgrade mostly and plantigrade when it comes to like macro stuff or artist style. Still has the four shaped toes like a paw just a flat sole and heel.

Plantigrade, i myself used to be digitigrade before deciding to change. Here’s the secret... you can stand on your tip toes to be digitigrade

Psssssh you know I myself am a plantigrade lover! Soles, pads, 4-toes, 5-toes, whatever! My bias is towards human shaped with a furry emphasis to the look, so claws at the bare minimum with like a "pad sole." I also like animal attributes, like Xenon's ottery webbing being a part of his toes.

Digitgrade is definitely cute though. I think it all just comes down to the individual and the piece of art I'm looking at. Your paws look good in both styles!

Ah awesome yeah digitgrade can be nice in a lot of situations too. I usually do digit for more realistic pieces.

I usually go foot like with animalistic traits if that makes sense XD but lord knows I love and appreciate all manner of paws!

Digitigrade is my favorite now. I used to draw plantigrade a lot years ago but I later switched styles and it stuck.

Digi for sure. Plantigrade only acceptable when it's still the animals paws. Human-ish feet on anthros is a hard NO >:C

I like both! Human-style, digitigrade style, and even unique! I don't care for the ones that are cartoony though. I like them realistic~

I usually like digi more cause they’re more guaranteed to have the shape I like to them, and the way the toes kind of bunch up on a digi paw when they lift up is so cute. Planti is fine too as long as they still have the symmetrical, 4 toe structure to them.

My personal preference is plantigrade, I find the shape more interesting and of course for steppy stuff there's more interaction to be had with the different parts of the paw, which is nice.

Another thing that hasn't been mentioned a lot is that digitigrade paws often also change the structure/pose of the entire legs, which I like a bit less.

Respect to both preferences though, and your digitigrade stuff is very cute also!

Hehe I can totally get behind plantigrade for sure. I used to be purely digitgrade but once I started commissioning some artists who draw good plantigrade I fell in love with the style. Also yeah the legs do make a big difference too.

I honestly always loved both, but lately i'm starting to find more and more interest in digitgrade >3>

Hey as long as it's paws, not human feet, then the shape of the leg is no issue to me at all. I think my character has both digi and plainti art and I just don't pay attention to/specify which. I don't even care if an artist gives my fox 3 toes or 4 toes! I am in it for da paws and dem beans! <3

I love them both, though I tend to prefer digitigrade and animal-like ones more, especially if they are large (like those of a dragon for instance).

Depends if the plantigrade style looks like human feet or not. If it does, then hard into digitigrade. If not, then it depends on how chonky they are.
