Ok. Can someone explain this to me?

Supposedly there has been closed characters in this fandom for awhile now. What this means is that you have to get a character from the creator of the species in order to have said character.

And my mind is going.. ok.. and?

So let me get this straight if I wanted to have one of these closed characters for my own. If I wanted to create one of these from scratch with my meager abilities and then get another artist to draw said character. What would the creator of the species be able to do?

NOTHING!

This is just DUMB to me! And yeah I know it stems from the video I saw about someone supposedly spending 20,000 on a furry art commission of a grem character. So what? What if I want to create a grem character? Are you saying that I can't? That's like someone coming up to you and saying you can't create a dutch angel dragon or a protogen or a batwinged tiger.. see how DUMB that sounds?

So if you see a closed character.. and you want one? Make it your own. Period.
