league's art style all the way

Played League for years, Even went to watch the lcs live in NYC many moons ago just had so much fun with that game Both games have something good going for them just havent played much of dota

Been in the League camp for a while now. It's less of a clusterfuck than DotA both visually and from a gameplay perspective I feel. MOBAs are hard enough as it is, but DotA goes out of it's way to make you feel miserable when you die. Hero turn rates and the basic concept of abilities OOM'ing you after two casts is just not for me.
The DotA client is miles ahead of League's but when it comes to gameplay, League just feels less cluttered and less punishing... usually...

Not gonna lie though, a buyback option in League might be actually sweet.

Yeh im a league guy... Dota might be the "original" but with the art style and frankly the fights always look better, theres less management and its just a better overall game to play. i may be a bit biased having played since like... just after the beta finished.. so dont take my word for it :P

You should try Eternal Return. It's MOBA-like (with QWER skills) with tons of champions. It's also battle royale where it's solo, duos or squads (3 people) against eachother. You go in, craft shit, kill others. Upside is if you lose it's all on you. No randoms to blame.

Both games are awful and shouldn't be played, who'd want to play them....

I loved Zalgus and can never forget the magnificent Renzo! I know theres meant to be a fan project to bring it back but i've not checked on it in a while so not sure how far it got.

Ah yes...glass cutting renzo.... and where's fenmore? Zalgus was pretty fun, especially chaining final chapter X.x

Huge shame. Honestly my all time favourite MOBA experience. The characters, story, and art were all so great!

Yes. Can still find comic archived. Lore and music on YouTube. That shaper select music.
The story. That take on little red and the big bad wolf. I remember despising fighting voluc, and then you see him in comic and Hus lore, and feel bad D: just one example

I started out trying to play Dota but ended up liking league more.

Used to play both a lot, now I just play a few games of Dota now and again. League's gameplay feels like a complete joke nowadays, like it's almost a parody of the idea of the genre. AND they made Tristana less hot at some point. Unforgivable.

I played Dota 2 from 2013 to 2019, then they introduced new mechanics that, I found, took away most of the fun so I decided, as a joke, to check out LoL...
Well I ended up really enjoying it so now I just play LoL.
Art-wise I think both games have great things going for them but League leans a bit much on the "excitable teenager" side of art which is sort of annoying. The game needs more beasts and variety.

I played Dota 2 from the begining and end up when the game changed the engine, cause Valve itself do almost nothing for this game since relize. This game started to be boring even with friends. Also I dont like how bkb was so ultimate item (I don't know about now) and I can't played as a skill base character like shaman or ogre cause nobody could save me

I play in LoL since relize of Vi. LoL have so much cool events and characters witch in my opinion more intrasting in gameplay and design. Now I don't play much in LoL but from time to time I chill in this game with friends
Also hots is a good one in this genre

Played both for some time, though LoL some more. LoL has more personally appealing art style and I even drew the characters a few times. I don't have the competitive streak in me anymore so I stopped playing with my current gaming habits being slow single player jrpgs (and trying to complete some of the FF games I missed)

Never played either tbh, but my better half likes Kindred so I guess league?

Played both and while LoL has some nice characters, i'm dota all the way as I just find the larger variety of mechanics and the ability to turn thigns around easier more fun. PLus no surrendering.

Doeta is a much better game if you ask me! I know it's a large debate but if it helps, I come from an RTS/RPG background. Tend to love a more creative take on abilities, their use, the balance of it all and how it comes together (teamfights) and Dota has such an amazing... CAPACITY for what can happen.

Gameplay, definitely go for the Dotes. League utilizes too many shortcuts and most abilities are just 'face the enemy and button' or a skill shot, as they say. Dota is not very welcoming and if you don't have friends, you probably won't have a great time. Even on your first match you'll be in a game with folks that've played anywhere from 50-5000 hours. It's not great for new folks, it definitely punishes you for every bad move.

Is better game though. Battlerite is also great and worth your time, could play that before it's forgotten in time. Some people do closed/private servers for Gigantic, another great MOBA that's dead. Was gonna just shush but heck. One of my favourite things about Dota is that anyone can be played as just about anything, in any role.

This leads to some unexpected combinations and happenings, One of my favourite things is traditionally and mostly played as a support who offers little to the table.
