Debt
Back in 2016 I got fired from a shitty job and spent most of that year either unemployed, or doing temp jobs, and racking up a bit of a credit card debt.
I got a full time job in early 2017 but did a poor job reducing that. Going to conventions and meets, and after-meet dinners.
So in 2019 I resolved to zero out my debt and interest charges by cutting back on spending, events and cons.
I did pretty well, and the pandemic helped as there were no cons or meets to attend.
So with this past week's paycheck I was able to get my credit card debt under $1000.
I am close enough that another paycheck, or tax refund* might be enough to knock down the balance. I'd still need a month or two to make sure there's no lingering interest charges, but then I'd feel free to look at large purchases like a new computer, camera or telescope. Or some furry cosplay stuff.
*Here's where it gets stupid. I never got the second $600 Pandemic stimulus check. The IRS website just says "Dunno." I found out I could have added this to my 2020 federal return...after I had already mailed in my return. So now I have to wait until the Amend Your Return is updated for 2020. Sigh.

Stuff I should have looked into more years back, but hindsight's 20/20 as they say.
