That Dragoneer bought this site back AT A LOSS and now is complaining he can’t buy any meds because he lost his insurance.

I want so badly to just toss this site into the sun but it’s been proven if I leave people just forget about me. I’m so ticked.

FA+

* Improvements to FA+ to make supporting the site more rewarding and giving more value (inkbunny already did this FA stole the idea recently)
* Higher resolution and larger file support (IB has been supporting high res and large images for years now)
* Trending sections for popular submissions and work by up-and-coming creators (another thing IB has had for years and years now)
* Account renaming (another thing IB has been doing since its creation almost)
* Additional UI improvements and tweaks (we are about to get DDOS'd once they start fucking with the code again watch and see)
* Submissions filters for Browse and Search (again IB already has something like this that works better than FA)
* Video upload and support (IB already has this as well)
* Improved block and privacy settings (another IB basic setting)
* Improvements to writing and poetry (this one is an i dont know who is better IB or FA but IB has some pretty good layouts for stories sooo ???? Idk up to interpretation)
UI changes that bring it a bit closer to modernity would be nice. Given the glacial pace at which the site updates, I assume these new features will be added around the time I'm eligible for AARP.
I want multiple pics in one submission. I want to have a site-wide tag blacklist. I want the ability to let people suggest tags I didn't think about. I want more discoverability (if they can implement algorithms that don't just spread all the popufur smut harder, and actually gives lesser-known users a fair shake). I want the ability to put up full-res art and not have it blow up to either 5x your screen size or a box too small for 720p. And I don't want to have to re-upload it to prevent the art getting compressed to MS Paint levels and 1200x1200 maximum.
FA is a chore to upload into and it's no wonder people have been fleeing left and right for Twitter. I don't see how trying to make it more functional can possibly be seen as a bad thing.
I would love for this site to be more like IB I just know its going to fail miserably and who ever is in charge of the shit spaghetti code of this janky POS site is going to fuck it up hardcore. Lest we forget IB only went down for 2-3 days during the massive furry art site DDOS attacks meanwhile FA was down for a month, hence why everyone jumped ship to other better sites, and why Weasyl and SoFurry got a start.
This site hasn't been very good since about 2011-2012, when shit really started to hit the fan with constant DDOS attacks, mods and admins taking sides in petty squabbles, and the main staff being made of incompetent children who are more focused on their own petty bullshit to actually put in an effort to care.
Not to mention the amount of favouritism shown to people's ads and such.
Its a shitehole, only reason I don't like IB is because if you're not a raging pedophile who LOOOOOOOVES drawing underage people getting raped then you're not worth anyone's time over there :/
Whether that's good or bad depends on your perspective.
Oh wait youre serious, Let me laugh even harder!
HAHAHAHHAHA
Btw im laughing at dragoneer not you
And thanks for not making it out as a negative post, just an informative one. :3
And each time I see someone say "That's the nail in this site's coffin" I giggle. They said that when dragoneer gained the site over a decade ago, they said it when they banned certain taboo content, they said that when some admins were removed, they said that when furry network became a thing. Y'all don't understand. This site will be fine because no one wants to let it die. People who want it to die or expect it to... are usually the minority who feel they're not being catered to or are disappointed in something. Doesn't work that way, sadly. Now if the majority is upset? yeah, they'll take that in account. Because at the end of the day, it's a business :)
"FurAffinity! It's a Zootopia Fan Site!"
even while I'm on here people have already forgotten about me, I might as well not exist
But in a more objective way,I guess I can't enjoy other people ( even when I have a bad experience with them) be in a problem, UNLESS, they just want help because bad management or thinking they will never be in a bad situation, and now are struggling to keep their wasteful lives, instead deal with it like regular people, if it is the situation, then yep, deserved a punch of reality in their faces.
Wait a minute, this dude bought Furaffinity back from IMVU!? WTF!?!?
there's good reason to be upset by the damage the rain causes a thing, but it's still rain. It's still unavoidable stupid in the universe. It's still gonna happen.
Just relax. Avoid the puddles. Bring an umbrella. It is what it is.
And it turns out the answer is nothing. They're still there.
Today I learned that, besides Dragoneer buying back FA at a loss, he was also married to -- and now divorced from -- his wife Sciggles.
This fuckin' website, though.
Shit the only reason I like this place is because it's a fucking relic, like me. I come here and it's kind of just the internet back when I liked it, clunky and full of unmarked nightmares.
But even I know this place is a shithole, why the fuck would he want it back?
TL;DR, I haven't been reading on FA very often. Most of my friends already left, I haven't felt safe voicing much of anything to the ones who remain due to the worsening state of the fandom, and in my habits, I hadn't watched artists quicker than they left FA. Trying to find artists who were active via browsing felt like exploring a ghost town. I could probably look at the front-page submissions more often to find activity, but to be fair, I haven't kept up with checking the submission notices I already receive. I mainly see art from a handful of prolific artists now. I've been very slow to try to migrate elsewhere.
