I have reservations about the whole thing considering he put himself in a massive financial hole to buy FA back. I know it's pessimistic, but I think this independence will be brief.

Seems like people are also forgetting that he's also not exactly the best at server maintenance and upgrades (or keeping track of the people tasked with those things), as shown by some 'incidents' in the past. Bought the wrong rails for a server rack at one point, or somesuch, if I remember rightly, a host of "read only" downtimes, some of which lasted days...
We'll see how it goes this time.

I really don't see this as a reason to celebrate. IMVU owning FA-even if only to list it as one of their assets-gave this site a degree of security Dragoneer can't. Now we're depending on someone with extremely limited funds and a tiny amount of paid advertisements to help keep this site running. That and with nobody to answer to 'Neer-the fellow responsible for letting people like Zaush remain on the site despite evidence showing they're pedophiles-can continue ignoring the potential harm people like that can cause the community.

Dragoneer is really bad at running this site and sooner or later (my guess is sooner) he will burn it to the ground. Your best bet is to make sure you've got other sites you host your work on because this one has a finite amount of time left.

At worst, it'll be handed over to another admin. I don't think the site will burn to the ground. But then again, I'm weirdly optimistic about this stuff XP
