I can only surmise, maybe it's because you don't know who's in them and you hide your facial expressions too. Social interaction gets distorted when you don't have a face to use and need to rely on pantomime more to convey your thoughts and feelings. It's a very awkward thing to be presented with.
Dang... Certainly wasn't what I was even remotely thinking when I made this journal, but yeah, I can that being a reason as to why.
I was mainly thinking about how fursuits just sorta...stare into your soul with a dopey/innocent expression. It's as though they're going to eat your soul, but never change their expression while doing so. As you stare into their cold, dead eyes.
