I have a deep appreciation for both. They both take alot of time and effort. Although id wish there would be more 2d movies then 3d when it comes to disney. I cant wait for the princess and the frog to come out x3 *excited*
I have to say there's a lot more appreciation for hand-drawn animation. Back in the good ol' days of animating, it'd take a couple years for a full-length movie to come out. Lots of time and effort and detail were put into such pieces. Today, 3D can easily be done in more than half the time. Once you've created the shape of the character, the rest gets easier. You can just drag whatever part needed and animate that way to bring it to life. With hand-drawn animation you had to draw out every detail of that.
So I do think if I was to become an animator I wouldn't really care to jump into 3D animation. The detailing becomes more beautiful by the day, but there's a real appreciation for the classic way of doing things.

2D is best. Some things just don't need to be in 3D... like that Jonas Brothers movie. Waste of space!!! X3
