I’m remaking the character to a different species, but don’t know what can fit his reaper role, can anyone give me any suggestions which is the best species?

If you want a reaper, I'd think a species which is known for scavenging? Like maybe a jackal or coyote. Or you could go outside of mammals if you want a condor or a vulture.
