Advice for getting back into things?

So... I'm trying to pick up a pen again, and get back to things. It's not going well x.x

Also don't jump back in with the mindset of "I want to release this and have people see it". Draw for yourself first, and release it only if you're comfortable with the results.

The last couple of times this has happened, I start with gesture lines, then try to refine from there. Usually ends up with a like/don't like relationship... but it's still fun, which is nice :).
Sometimes watching a favorite movie and then doodling a rough sketch of your favorite character or ship is a way I get the rust out of my joints :)
