Keepin' on, Keepin' on

This world is a mess. lol
Oh well. Nothing we can do but keep on keepin' on. So, I lost my job back in May last year (2020), and Greggest and I have been making do on our savings since then. What with the pandemic (and the **massive** blow getting fired delivered to my self-esteem) I've been focusing on glass, soap, and learning to code. It's been a ride.. a slow, crawling-out-of-the-gutter ride (lol).
I won't blather on about the details.
But I'm doing a lot more crafty stuff these days, and wanted to pop in and share what I've been up to.
I hope y'all all are doing well!
Blessings to you!

The job recruited me out of my previous job at the shelter.
The new company was going through a corporate buyout, and the lady I was replacing was moving into management.
Turned out what she and the doctor were expecting was another person with her level of experience, not just a customer service receptionist.
So... yeah... Fiyarrrrrd!
What I was *not* ready for was the 2-3 euthanasia appointments per week, sometimes multiple on one day. That going on with an unusually busy schedule because of the pandemic... I just do not have the psyche for that. Furthermore, they needed me to know more "out of the box" than they expected, and they simply did not have the time for my learning curve. I perfectly get that, and when my 90 days came up, they should have cut me loose (or before).
*sigh* actually, when that meeting came up, I could tell in how my manager was acting that I did not make the cut, but for whatever reason, they kept me on... Heh... I could say more about that happened, but I don't want to be "that guy."

What Gary V said about hiring people is 100% true: Hire slow, fire fast.
Sure, it would have hurt and it would have been demoralizing, but I could (possibly) have gotten unemployment, and I would not have the black mark of "Has Been Fired" on future job applications. *sigh* I have not received a *single* callback.
