What's the Deal with Decapitation?

Genuinely curious, as it seems super popular but I've personally never seen the appeal; i don't find it excessively disturbing or anything, just often slightly off putting. So, as a guy who expects to be drawing some in the near future... what do yall like about it?
But guess overall some (me included) can be a form of true dominating, degration have it as a trophy and whatnot it's mainly a power thing too
My guilty pleasure, I love agony and pain for snuff toy and decapitation not doing it for me.
Unless someone fucks the neck stump or penetrates the decapitated head from the disembodied neck.
Which is snuff fetish.
In another way, it's the voyeurism of toying with death. Or some combination like that.
I think the face, brain and overall head of a person makes them who they are. So removing that through decapitation, explosions and other means completely dehumanizes them.
A big part of gore for me is the long term psychological damage for people around the victim.
So having people view someone they knew as lifeless body without the thing that makes them human seems so fucked up and dark.
Also personally I find neck fucking super hot :3
